Got something to post but not worthy of a new thread. Put it here.

Johnny Damon is languishing. When will he get picked up?

If Damon does return it will have to be as a DH for a team with a short RF fence. I don't know if he could be an everyday guy but if you're a team that could use the experience of a winner that could potentially drive in a few runs as a bench player why not take a shot at him?

The word is Cano wants 10 years & the Yankees are willing to give him 8 at this point. I hope he walks at the end of the year, but I doubt it. The Yankees are getting old. It would be great to see them have to start from scratch when Jeter & Rivera are done. Won't happen though.

I know nothing about the Yankees farm team but I would imagine there's little to no high end talent considering all the draft picks they've lost with their free agent signings.

The Yankees will attempt to sign all the top UFA's if they have too. Granderson will be a UFA soon as well I think. It could be a long year in the Bronx. We shall see.

It would be a feelgood story to see him in a support role in KC. Especially if KC makes a little noise in the Central. The veteran leadership would only help.

2013 Prospect Watch | MLB.com: Prospects

Mets with 3 guys in the top 30 (all via trade), I'll take it. D'Arnaud (6) and Wheeler (8) will be up in June.

Too lazy to look, any teams with a strong farm system that are actually in a position to compete this year?

The Padres are going to be loaded in Low A, High A & Double A this year. They've kicked butt on draft day the past two years.

Are the Kansas City Royals for real? Yeah, it's only spring training. 13-1 leads you to believe they may have some pieces and some depth, however.

Already talk of Chipper Jones' return. But to Yankees? I don't think he'd want anything to do with their sinking ship.

Yankees Notes: Ben Francisco, Chipper Jones: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com

I couldn't see it happening. Read this earlier too fwiw...

Chipper Jones a Yankee? Don?t believe the hype

The eight-time All-Star third baseman – better known by his nickname than actual first name – quickly ended such talk.

”Enough with the rumors!” Jones tweeted. ”While I am flattered about the speculation of being enticed out of retirement, I’m happy with life as a bad golfer!”

Pretty much what everyone figured.

”I can imagine a lot of things in baseball,” Braves coach and former third baseman Terry Pendleton said, ”but Chipper playing for the Yankees isn’t one of them.”
”I think you’d have a lot of people in Atlanta pretty mad if that happened. He’s a man of his word and he says he’s done,” he said. ”But it might help the Yankees with their attendance. I think a lot of Mets fans would come over to Yankee Stadium to boo him.”

Yeah, there's not enough money in the world to make him play for a bad Yankees team. He'll never ruin what he has in Atlanta but I doubt the talk will subside until probably next season.

Not too upset by the Angels getting Snyder. What's up with all the "for free" guys they are getting lately? Just were traded a guy for literally nothing!

I am! :gaah: They desperately needed a quality back-up catcher and got one for nothing.
