His cap hit is $22.5 for 2016. he still carries 11 million in dead money. So much like Suh. It would save 11.5 mill in cap space, but your still paying 11 mill for him not to be a Lion.
at this point would that really matter? I mean besides the Cap hit... Wouldn't think be something the Lions should at least consider?
I wouldn't cut him or trade him on dead money. Unless some team was willing to cough up some valuable picks and we were picking top 3. Then you can shoot for the franchise QB.
Yeah good point about needing picks. However at this point do you think he would bring anything more than a 3rd rounder?
Very true... however... I don't see the Saints moving on from Brees, the Broncos just need a better OL to protect Manning (at least for this year and next..
Yeah, only because it's a QB driven league.
Jet's, Redskins, Browns, Texans, Saints?, Broncos, Niners?
Keep Stafford.
Gym Shorts and Linehan.
Black Spock and Gobsmacked
And the only organization that could lose Ravioli and the OL gets worse.
Not Staffords' fault.
Or maybe it's because I realize I don't have another 40 years to wait for Stafford's replacement.
I'm no pro scout but I see no QBs coming out in this draft that look better than Stafford. Goff sure doesn't look like anything special.

What about Boykin? That dude seems like a play maker. Ala Russell Wilson, but faster.

I said the same thing in another thread. I may have to recheck my thinking now, LOL.
I have heard his name thrown around already as he has been lighting it up. I will keep an eye on him to see if he continues to develop. Imagine if TCU had last years defense with this years offense.
Wouldnt his 5.5 mil dead money hit for 2017 be accelerated into the 2016 cap year?
Red I am not a Stafford fan and have not really ever been. He is a mediocre guy who has shown to thrive at times. He just does stupid shit at the wrong time. Kid has a rocket arm and all the tools to be great. He's just never going to use all his tools. he drives me crazy watching him.
I also realize the Lions did win with him and a great defense. Many here who loved and defended him want to run him out of town. That can also get you Geno, Emmanuel or Manziel. I
I mentioned elsewhere I'd love to see Sean Payton with him before I completely give up on him. Sean can't better him, IMO don't see many others doing it.
Very true. He does have the arm and at times he certainly shows he has "it" yet he isn't consistent at all. Granted that could be due to the OL as well. In reality are those 3 QBS better than Stafford?
