LaVine > Green

Gerald is a great dunker.

But, LaVine makes it look effortless.

I really hope Gerald doesn't enter again.

He had his time.

Dunk contests are for the young up and coming players trying to make a name for themselves.

Green is a Vet.

Oh yeah....

I would also take T-Mac and Dominique as better in game dunkers.

Shawn Kemp would get a look too.

Not surprising coming from a UCLA fan.

And since when are dunk contests for up and coming players? I want to see the 4 best dunkers in the contest. Not some dude with 5 million letters in his name from straight outta Africa.

It actually is for up and coming players. They changed it a few years ago.

Not surprising that a Suns fan would pick Green.

See how that works?

Since when has it been for up and coming guys?

Ummm, for the last decade?

The days of Jordan and Dominique going at it are long gone.

The big names rarely compete anymore.

The dunk contest is the most ridiculous event in the most ridiculous All Star event in professional sports. Just shameful.

Clearly you've never heard of the Pro Bowl.

And no, the Dunk Contest destroys pretty much every major All-Star Event minus the Home Run Derby.

I mean, the 3 point shootout & Dunk Contest are both decent. Up and down the last couple years, but what other sport produces multiple events like this? What the fuck do you expect... :L:noidea:

People will find everything to complain about.

It is amazing.

At the rate some people complain, I'm shocked they still watch sports

Oh for sure, Mecca. I never argued that Green's dunk contest was better because it clearly was not. I'm not a homer haha. LaVine killed it last night... I just think Green is a better overall dunker and LaVine is better for show. Just my opinion.

Yep.

I see it exactly the same.

Zach is great when nobody else is on the court:lol:

I think the " Who's better " debate always comes down to preference.

Some like finesse, others like power.

Green has a bit of both and that's what makes him dynamic.

Well in game Lavine really hasn't had much of a chance. He's just started and barely plays as of now.

All I know is about two weeks ago the wolves tried a fast break oop and Lavine went over the guy. Problem was the pass wasn't perfect and he jumped TOO HIGH. He's crazy.

Why not just have team mascots dunk the ball using trampolines if you want entertainment.

I made this thread last season and I may add some more for the hell of it but here are some more dunks from Green.
http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/...7-gerald-green-best-dunker-season-so-far.html

I think he is one of the best in-game.

Dude is fearless.

There are guys like Starks and Tom Chambers that have had EPIC in-game dunks. But, they didn't do it on a regular basis.

Guys like Kemp, Wilkins, Vince, T-mac, Green, BG32 did/do it several times a Season.
