Nightengale: Murphy spellbinding in NLCS

This article is actually a great read, however remember what happened when the Ever-So-Good Cardinals came to Wrigley? Yeah, the Cubs beat them! I don't know I am hoping the Cubs win but they have to win 4 out of the 5 games now D:

Dat offense doe...

No way you're out of this series. Could see a barrage of homers tomorrow night and Wednesday.

Nobody would use this as an excuse, but it was cold the last couple of evenings in Flushing. Maybe your guys were just a little tight.

Haha well maybe! Although I mean I give credit to the Mets Pitchers

It'd be nice if both teams currently down 0-2 came back to win. Or at least the one with the DH

For real though, I think both teams up 2-0 aren't playing another home game this series.

Idk anything can happen if either team can get game 3.

Dickey and Young are both blahhhh so that could go either way

Hammel is also blah but Matz has hardly pitched so again either way.

Were the Cardinals actually good? It was a team based on great pitching with its Game 2 starter having a stomach bug and the game 3 starter tiring out his arm about a month ago and not being the same guy while the guy that would've taken his place had his season ended a few weeks ago.

The Cards clearly weren't the same team.

Of course, but just watching the first two games it really looks like KC is a lineup that is perfectly matched against the Jays' BP due to the lack of lefties, and if the Mets could hit off of Arrieta just imagine what they'll do to Hammel...

Yo Clayton, this is thread has nothing to do with your sitting at home cardinals! Why don't you take your defeated "PED" allegation salty ass to the bench where you belong b i t c h.

2015 CUBS > cardinals...and, really that's all that matters. SUCK on that all off season.

AND, Hell yes they can OP...GO CUBS GO!

Can you really talk smack about a fan enjoying an off season when your team had had to "SUCK on that" for over 100 straight off seasons?

The P.E.D. allegation was a guess based on a small sample size. The scenario entering the series was that:

1. The Cubs were on PEDs
2. The Cubs were actually a great team
3. The Cardinals pitchers totally fell apart

And its very clear that its door #3 which is good because it still means that the Cubs are the Cubs.

You can't really use that argument. This Cubs team is very young, (starting 4 rookies in the NLCS had Russell not gotten hurt) and Rizzo who's only 26 and Castro who's 25.

This Cubs team is far exceeding the time table and is already a force to be reckoned with (see NLDS for reference). The argument that "this is just the same ol' Cubs", doesn't work anymore. This wasn't an all or nothing season, this was another building season. This Cubs team is built for a long, long run.

Sure, why not? The Cubs are the reason the Cards are at home. And the Blues fans talk shit all the time.

Oh god, the Blues. So glad I dont care about hockey. Following Mizzou gives me enough playoff dread.

The Cubs are really talented and ahead of schedule but Arrieta also got a little bit of invincibility worn off, too, so maybe if he is just a normal Ace then they just become one of the contenders for awhile and not a super team. I suspect everyone will be picking Royals v Cubs in next years World Series from day 1 but if Ive learned anything about baseball is that everyone is always wrong.
