I'll tel you this much, if Dallas lands Holliman first round, and RB Tevin in the second Id say the offseason was a success even without additional pass rush in FA or rounds 1-2.

Those would be two excellent picks.

So Brinkley, Gachkar, and Rivers to replace McClain, Durant and Carter? Or something along these lines with Sean coming back to replace someone as well. Not sure about these additions, aside form Lee coming back healthy

No, let's hope the plan is still to bring back McClain. Seeing the contracts that Carter and Durant received we would have been dumb to resign them to be backups. But, we needed to resign one of the 3 and the best one is still out there. All those guys we picked up are depth type players. I admit I didnt look at the specifics of the contracts, but I think if any of them starts it will be due to injury or because they won the job. I don't think the PLAN is for them to start. Its not likely that all 3 of them even make the team unless a couple of them are big time STs players. If we don't being back McClain then we made a mistake by letting all 3 go IMO.

Isn't McClain facing something like a 2-4 game suspension still?

And I'd also point out that if the rookie from Iowa comes back and plays like he did the last 6/7 games, he'll be on the field next to Lee

Oh, there is no doubt about that. Right now we have two very good starting LBs: Lee and Hitchens. The goal is to find #3

Hitchens, Lee and Brinkley would be the starters today with Wilber and Gachkar as backups. I'd expect one more LB in the draft anyway.

Gachkar is a straight up special teams demon as well

Do we have enough coin to make a run at Greg Hardy? They only thing certain with this guy is that he probably be a top 5 pass rusher for several years. His recent imperial entanglement could mean a discount but he may be suspended for some games this year.

Dallas Cowboys Free Agency 2015: Greg Hardy Needs Another Look - Blogging The Boys

Sure, I think we are still looking to do something with Carr and probably have some other options as well. Plus there is always the way we structure his contract. Look at the 2015 cap hit for Suh compared to the 2016 Cap hit.

The question is more do we want to bring him in. I asked the other day 'I wonder what we think about him' and I just don't know. He would be a great fit for our biggest weakness. I just didn't follow his case closely enough and would be interested to know if Garrett feels like he would "fit" on this team or not before even considering him.

Obviously we're not in the locker room and we don't know the environment that is needed for this team to succeed. If the coaching staff and management don't think he fits the system then I'll have to take their word for it. However, I really hope they can find a way to make it work because this guy can be elite (assuming he can keep himself in check).

Just don't see Hardy in Dallas.
Now if this was the team back in the day and it's a Charles Haley then that's different. I think Dallas is more concerned with building a certain chemistry and putting back to back serious playoff contending teams on the field. I do think Rod has many ears at the ranch and maybe he's talking Hardy up. Well see soon enough.

I agree, don't see Hardy in a Cowboys uniform. After the shit storm that occurred over Dez and his Mom, I think the last thing the Cowboys want is another potential domestic violence issue on their hands. The NFL is not playing games with these types of incidents anymore.

I think Hardy is a possibility. Jerry couldn't wait to get Josh Brent back on the field. Not saying I'm a Hardy fan, but he is a far better player than Brent, and is a guy that can give this club something it desperately needs which is edge pressure

right now they are talking that Hardy will probably receive a 6-game suspension so i don't see him as an option

If the reports are true, that 6 game suspension would be well deserved. Hardy allegedly strangled and threatened to kill his now ex-GF. From the reports that I have read, this was a few steps above your typical domestic violence case.

Funny how the news of a Dez video is no where to be found anymore, when just a week or two ago it was all you could find on any NFL site
