I really liked the trade for the Pens until they picked Pouliot.

Still a pretty good return and if Pouliot pans out it will be outstanding.

Dumoulin, by all accounts, is a solid prospect and Sutter is seriously underrated (just about the only one that is in that family).

Similar molds of players, Staal's just a little better at it. Ultimately, equal value at the outset, I'd say, on the deal.

Depending on how the pick and prospect turn out, it could be a win for the Penguins or for the 'Canes.

I may be alone, but I kind of like the pick. That sort of defenseman really fits our system well.

I would have preferred Forsberg, but I don't think the pick was wasted.

The trade was fair, overall, I think. Good deal for both sides.
