Oh well, the judges just had to hand a medal to that Russian. Gold-silver again

That Russian dude skied well, I thought the judges did a fine job, Canadian guy made a couple of mistakes and that cost him a medal. Gold-Silver in ladies moguls, Gold-Silver in men's moguls, not too shabby.

I thought their runs were similar. Made the same skiing errors in the middle on the hill, yet he gets 1 point higher? Dunno about that one.... anyway, nice to see both Alex and Mikael come through with them being such heavy favourites and the Russians trying to "Canada proof" the hill.

THREE :first:
THREE :second:
ONE :third:

puts us top of the table right now.
even though we are only on day 4, I can't remember ever seeing that

Also, I never noticed those speed-skates have the blades detached at the heel.
threw me for a loop on the slow-mo... thought our guy broke a skate off the start

They show the judging by nationality and the Russian judge was in line with the others. If anything I thought the aerial judges (Finland and Canada) were overly generous for the "truck driver" trick. No judging controversy here.

But I do think it's clutch to come 12 considering the crummy conditions and course. You could tell the short landing areas were limiting the Canadians aerial dominance.

Good day for Canada's "big guns"! And Alex Gough still had an outside podium shot in luge...

Think it's called the clap skate. Been using them for a while now

Best part about moguls being done is not having to listen to Jennifer Heil's laugh-talking commentary anymore. Too bad we can't mute individual broadcasters.

I watched some of the Canada - Finland women's hockey game earlier today, Mark Lee was godawful doing the play-by-play, he's my top candidate for the mute button.

That is a very oblique comparison

I noticed that too. Was pretty happy that Kingsbury snuck into 2nd anyway. Thought the Russian played it too safe on jumps and speed.

Was there a timing error?

And what happened to Canada's long track team? Used to be such a strength...

It was a difference of 1/100th of a second, initially, one Dutch guy thought he had gold, but then they adjusted his time and his teammate ended up winning.

Just in a little bit of a down cycle (along with the Americans it seems). Dutch and Norwegians appear tough to beat in Sochi.
