The Wolves certainly were no great roster, but were far from a 1 man show.

Did anyone think that last year they wouldn't be better then the Suns, for example?

Stats are great, but making other players around you is more important.
Kyrie falls into the same category.

Should be interesting if it happens.

He does make people around him better lol the team craps the bed when he sits

I think Love receives a bit too much criticism for having not made the playoffs yet. His teams haven't been that good and their in the tougher Western Conference. Pau Gasol never won a playoff game in Memphis. He gets traded to the Lakers and makes it to 3 straight Finals. Pair Love with the right teammate and things could be a lot different.
This would be true of any good player.

Gasol made the playoffs, though....Love hasn't.

I don't think Love is as good as Gasol was. Love is more like a Pippen than a Jordan, he would make an awesome sidekick but is not really a lead dog.

I just don't get peoples argument about not making the playoffs. Mike trout, Felix Hernandez, yu darvish, Giancarlo Stanton. There's a lot of baseball players who are one of the best players in the league but haven't made the playoffs

I think that's debatable. Gasol wasn't averaging as many points or rebounds at 25yo as Love is. When he was in Memphis, no one considered Gasol as being one of the best players in the NBA.

I think he's a good player, but I think he may also be a little over-rated as well. He had talent with Pekovic and Martin, but they couldn't do much this past season.

Both are small markets, but Gasol got his team in the playoffs. He didn't have much to work with in Memphis....compared to what Love had this last season.

One of the impressive things about Love that doesn't show up in the standard stats (except to actually lower his overall fg%) is his ability to hit the outside shot AND somehow still pull down the boards.

This gives him great versatility (especially in today's NBA) and, IMO, is what really elevates him above players like Gasol.

Here is the complete list of players in NBA history to average > 5 3PA/g and > 10 Reb/g:

Neither had a lot of help. IMO, Gasol had a little more.

Martin is meh and pek isn't bad at all but it was pretty much love and Rubio

Pretty much all Love. Rubio is garbage.

:laugh3:

He's an excellent passer, defender and rebounder for a PG, he's a triple double waiting to happen. The problem is he doesn't appeal to the average fan because he isn't a scorer. He's a pure PG who can run an offense.

Rubio is deff good. But he's no threat on offense

On Rubio, didn't he have a pretty severe injury that he came back from too early and played pretty poorly for awhile? That may feed into some of the perception of him not being very good.
