Seriously....do you really believe he's only going to get 6 years?

The state of Virginia has a mandatory sentence of 5-40 years for the crime of second degree murder. Based on the brutality of the crime, I doubt he'll get less than the top end of that range with parole being out of the question.

Sorry, still pissed about the Casey Anthony verdict.

More of an eye for an eye person myself.

So i asked the guys over at TSL this question, and wanted to run it by you as well...

I have to write a term paper for my A&P class on a disease that affects the endocrine system (hormones/endocrine glands), circulatory system, lymphatic system (auto-immune disease perhaps), respiratory system, digestive/urinary system, and ***drum roll please***.................the reproductive system. Any ideas on something maybe not so common that someone else may have the same subject (no AIDS, cancer, myocardial infarction, crohns, etc.)

Anybody got any good ideas????

Well this is right in my wheelhouse as a public health person....

You need a disease that effects one of those things or all of them?

Ahhh you da man wit da plan then....LOL

Any of those systems will do..... has to be 5-7 pages, so something with a good amount of substance would be preferable.

A disease that is kind of making a resurgence right now is rheumatoid arthritis. It's causes are very broad, and the epidemiology of it is pretty interesting.

I am an infectious disease specialist, so I could give you a ton of those but it doesn't seem like that is what you are looking for. RA would be a good one. COPD is another disease that has some interesting stuff to go along with it.

You'll be ahead of the curve if you get started on it now. Wouldn't want your prof. to have to bend the rules.

RA may very well be what i do it on. My mother has a mild form of RA, and could help in an interview of sorts. I'm not quite sure about infectious diseases, i actually meant to ask my instructor today if they were acceptable today, but i forgot. Someone on the list picked aids which is caused by an infectious disease, and the teacher said it was ok....so that may be an option.

If he/she let's you do an infectious disease, I can give you a bunch of interesting ones. My Masters degree is in pathogenic microbiology. ID Epidemiology is what I do, ha ha. Let me know.....

I did a lot of work for Multiple Sclerosis when I was at tech.

We developed a stimulation device to get the nerves working in the lower legs with a company out of the Corporate Research Center.

Sort of off-topic:

Though a lot of people might consider CFB a little soft, I certainly wouldn't consider Bud that way--on the field anyway. No BS/you screw up, you go home attitude plus emphasizing education .. That's definitely VT football. He's made some decisions to boot players that have probably costed VT games (and in the case of Marcus Vick -- ACC title and possible MNC implications) but they were the right decisions.

After reading this article, I'm kind of curious as to why VT wasn't really given a harder look by the Levenberry's than they were. I can understand Michigan -- the tradition, the education .. but FSU/Fisher? Not that I'll lose sleep over it. Just curious -- that's all.

E.J. Levenberry, a Watch List LB, and his family are looking for a disciplined coach - ESPN

EDIT: And the fact that they're considering USC/Lane Kiffin kind of cheapens the "son needs a coach like his dad" rhetoric. Kiffin would be more like his frat bro/train partner.
