Are they really that bad? I've never had a problem with them. I thought it was dumb when they installed that one in front of Wendy's on Main but after going back and using, its really not much different.

Its not that bad except if you end up on the outside lane, you end up going into the short turning lane for the Wendys and have to get out in a hurry.

The signage and marking clearly indicate how to navigate the circle correctly. It's actually an example of a good design in that it favors the free flow of traffic through Main Street, and allows Prices Fork traffic to merge into the pattern much more smoothly. As for the exit leg in front of Wendy's: It's exactly the same as merging two lanes after any other intersection. It has merge to two lanes, and this is the logical point. In the old configuration, there were serious traffic flow problems between Prices Fork and College, particularly near Alumni Mall.

No TEAM ACC for me, but good on FSU for winning the final BCS Championship. Congrats for any FSU visitors.

FSU's continued success as well as Clemson's OB win should be used as inspiration for Tech to reclaim some of its dominance of this league. The bar has been raised and with it comes more opportunities for everyone. The gauntlet, in and out of conference, has been laid down. It's time to start working hard.

I'm not generally an FSU fan, but I was pulling for them last night. I'm happy to see an ACC team win the national championship, mostly for the reasons you mentioned. To get back to the top of the ACC, VT will need to compete with Clemson and Florida State, and I don't mind if there is a high level of play required to get into that club.

If anyone other than Auburn & SEC fans were actually pulling for Auburn, then they need their heads checked. FSU winning is exactly what college football needed to slow the SEC hype machine. Yeah, there is going to be a playoff now, but FSU's win will no doubt have a trickle down effect in terms of SEC coverage in the media.

don't count on it. just this morning on Mike & Mike, they said, well Auburn may have lost, but the SEC still dominated college football this year like every year, cause they had 3 teams in the final top 5...the machine is chugging along

Until the ACC and other major conferences beat that ass on a somewhat consistent basis, the overall media perception of the SEC won't change. I am hopeful that once the playoff starts..that more often than not, the SEC will NOT be represented by more than one team. I am fully expecting for it to happen (2 SEC teams in the playoff), and certainly in the near future.

But I am totally of the opinion that anyone included in the playoff needs to be a conference champ... Period. Hopefully the selection board will feel the same way. Especially if there are several quality conference champs from some of the other Big 4..

How exactly is strength of schedule supposed to be factored in to this four-team playoff selection?

There is something to that, but at the end of the day, the SEC doesn't have the national championship trophy this year -- it's at Florida State University.
