Good schedule. Maybe at the very least the UVA game will be later in the day since it is on a Friday.

Alot of reachable away games for students and diehards. Duke, Wake, and UNC are easy day trips. Pittsburgh is reachable...and I am sure Hokienation will be well represented in Columbus as well.

If its Friday night, that could be really awesome
Any other Friday night would be awesome but why black Friday when all the students are still gone? Why make the students that want to see the game leave their family 2 days early? I guess I don't see the appeal.

Not gonna lie, I was just hoping to use it as an excuse to ditch the family to go drinking all day. I could see how students would be at a disadvantage though

I don't like the Friday game. It'll mean less family time for me personally, when wife and I already have to split time between families on Thursday. With that said, for a family that is totally connected to VT, this might really be a fun change. If the planning is done on Tech's part (evening game, dorms open early, appropriate on-site promotions), this could be a positive. Tech asking a lot of the fans here: a prime TV slot is mandatory.

As far as student attendance, this development is really going to hurt UVa. Tech's long break had most of my friends back in town on Friday anyway. Some students will miss out, but there are enough students within reasonable driving distance to still show up strong. UVa students get three days break though. They might as well not even go home if they want to go to the game Friday.

WRT away games: I agree. The best thing about being in the ACC is the short away drives.

UVa students don't even go to the game when it is on a Saturday and in Cville, so I don't think that will be a big deal.

free post, take a look http://virginiatech.247sports.com/Board/59428/Gobblers-whats-old-is-new-again-Interesting--25337942/1

IMO the best guesses so far are Harrison confirming his commitment or Drew Harris, but who knows.<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Hokies&amp;src=hash">#Hokies</a> Willard just posted and you know what that means, news of some sort if about to hit... <a href="http://t.co/mtoKwFYPq6">http://t.co/mtoKwFYPq6</a></p>&mdash; VTScoop247 (@VTScoop247) <a href="https://twitter.com/VTScoop247/statuses/427876284463841280">January 27, 2014</a></blockquote>

My guess is its another future scheduling announcement, although it would be odd for scheduling arrangements to have taken place without an AD.....WVU back on a yearly rotation?

Just some guy on 247 who usually is the first to post when something newsworthy is about to happen. He is known to the very reliable. Unfortunately his posts are always vague, but they often contain clues.

11 pages of bullshit because one guy made a thread with a vague title?

Forgive me if I don't plan on paying for the 'scoop' any time soon.

Haha. Maybe that's why it was a free post. I think the pay stuff is probably pretty good, but I'm not willing to pay for it anyway. I think that post might have been about the lineman who said he is coming back.

The pay stuff is very good -- Those guys know what they're talking about and do have some really good scoop. Evan is kicking ass over there and writes some really good articles.

It's the constant bickering at each other (probably 10 or so culprits), a bunch of always negative Nancy's, and the consistent .. "Why the hell did someone downvote me?" posts. 46 said it in a post earlier. Best bet is to look for certain posters who have good scoop and a lot of those guys post well too. It sounds like they're listening and cleaning house over there.

I let the sub expire but will probably go back eventually. It's worth the 10 bucks a month. I just needed to pull away for awhile.

:wtf2:

What could VT possibly need to consult with Weaver on at this point?....how to destroy a program? That money could very easily be used to keep coaches around!!!

Eh, I think that's actually a common thing with executives in numerous forms of industry. Hell, some companies even pay their salary as a pension for life. No biggie.
