Would be nice if the Mariners can get some production out of him this year. Don't have very high expectations though.
Im not expecting much either. I don't expect him to pitch much but I fully expect injuries to happen and if he can fill a hole and pitch at least decent I think its a win.Would be nice if the Mariners can get some production out of him this year. Don't have very high expectations though.
From last nights game:
The good:
- Dee Gordon > He is going to be more than serviceable in center. Of all the BS Jerry has done this looks like it’ll be a great move.
- Daniel Vogelbach > He just continues to mash. Good sign in spring, but can it translate to safeco?
- Mike Marjama > Had a good night at the plate, but his defense is what stood out. Dare I say we have a legit rotation behind the plate?
The bad:
- Mitch Haniger > His plate discipline is all over the place. It can take some time to get back after an injury, but hopefully this doesn’t take too long. Didn’t look good.
- Chases Bradford > Gave up a touchdown in relief, dude was bad. Hate to judge pitching in spring, but yikes!
The ugly:
- Scott Brosius > He waved Ford home from second when he had no chance with his clear lack of speed. May just be one instance, but I hope this isn’t a sign of what’s to come. The base running is bad enough as it is, we can’t afford giving up free outs.
- Spring training concessions > The food is really losing its way, and last night they ran out of fries yet still charged full price for an Italian beef because the system was set that way. If it’s not that it’s cold ass hot dogs in Peoria or stale hotdog buns at the Cubs home field. For those who may make it to a ST game, stick to the beer it’s better that way.
Good points and the spring training thing has been crap of late. I remember an opening day there they ran out of almost everything before the 5th inning. I actually wrote the manager of the park because they didn't offer ranch anywhere in the park for my chicken strips and that is a damn crime in my household! He was nice and offered free tickets to a game that I turned down, but the next year they had ranch.
Yeah, for my wife and I a big part of the experience is having good food while you watch an exhibition game.

Ok, I can't blame Jerry for not giving out a 4 year deal, even though I haven't read if there is an opt out. When healthy they have a playoff caliber offense. The pen seems good but they are set up to burn out.
Yep agree, thought Lynn would have been perfect. I don't get those numbers from an Orioles perspective for Cobb. I don't think any other team would have paid that for him so they must have been bidding against themselves. I always refer to them as Mariners lite with how they do things. They pay Chris Davis a stupid contract but wont pay Machado. Another team that is putting off the rebuild.Lynn (my original want) was the deal to get. He blew it.
Ichiro looks awful at bat and in the field. No way he should be on the team but Mariners
Hee we go again...
No surprise really given he had multiple elbow issues last year.
My question is did this team give him a physical once they traded for him. Because he got hurt right away
