its sad as mariners fans we expect our guys to be injured
The last couple years have been particularly rough in that regard. The '16 season seemed to be absolutely brutal on the pitching staff to the point where it couldn't possibly be topped, then the '17 season said "hold my beer." And what happens right off the bat in ST? Our newly signed 1B is sidelined for a month and a half before doing anything, Erasmo Ramirez shut down, Felix takes a liner off the pitching arm, and I still don't think Mitch Haniger has even played yet. Given how Mariners always seem to get injured, I think the Hawks should work a deal where they help fund the Ms signing rival NFL players for a cameo like the NYY are doing with RW and the Hawks probably win the SB every year.

On that same note, kind of glad our joke about the M's signing Wilson to the same type of deal. If he took an AB or take the field in a Mariners uniforms he'd blow out his ACL.

Cool moment just now; It is my birthday today and my daughter was trying to buy me this M's hat I saw Dave Sims wearing on a pregame show last week. She couldn't find it so I just tweeted him and asked him about it and he replied and told me where it came from. Pretty darn nice of him to take out the time.

That's awesome, I'm not a fan of his broadcasting but does seem like a cool and genuine dude when I hear him on the radio doing interviews.

He has actually messaged me back 3 more times asking me questions about my hat size and other things. I am actually a little surprise about his interest. He does seem like a pretty cool guy.

Heh, yeah that's the other side of that joke for sure. Had the Ms traded for him or drafted him previously, a RW Ms jersey would be the 2nd or 3rd most popular around the PNW...behind only RW3 and maybe the 12.

Which is kind of why some of us were surprised if the Rangers were willing to trade him the Mariners wouldn't trade for him. They spend so much on PR, trading a bag of balls for thousands in jersey sales makes sense.

And that's what makes me think the trade was generated by RW's camp. Better for his brand to get the exposure that comes along with being a Yankee. Could also be some early negotiation posturing when his contract with the Hawks us in its final year heading into the '19 season.

Paxton gave up seven runs on seven hits -- including home runs by Robinson Chirinos and Ryan Rua -- in just 1 2/3 innings in his second Cactus League start.

Injury Update
• Left fielder Ben Gamel is awaiting results from an MRI test on his sore right side, but Servais expects the 25-year-old to be shut down for at least 4-5 days.

• Right fielder Mitch Haniger was cleared by a hand specialist, with Servais saying tests showed only some tendinitis in his sore right hand. Haniger started swinging off a tee on Saturday, hit some soft toss Sunday and will progress now to normal batting practice before getting into game action possibly later next week.

• Right-handed reliever Nick Rumbelow hasn't pitched since his debut on Feb. 24 when he came out of the game with a cut on his thumb. He's now dealing with some "shoulder discomfort," according to Servais, and awaiting results of MRI tests.

• Veteran reliever Nick Vincent, held back to protect a sore arm early in camp, threw a light bullpen on Saturday with no issues. He is tentatively scheduled to make his Cactus League debut Friday vs. the Giants.

True, but if his PR or reps are that dumb they need to be fired on the spot. RW is mocked with any NY Yankee fan, he isn't growing his brand being the Tony Robbins of them. If it's his childhood dream so be it, but if his people really think it has any positive marketing aspect then they must be the ones who chose the recovery water angle.

Well damn, he needs a third pitch and the box score looks like he worked on it and it sucks. Just develop an average changeup James.

I want to put a LOL on this because it is so Mariners. The only 100% OF right now is the teams best infielder.
