Another good haul by UK. Can't help but be impressed with the recruiting job done by Cal.

UC signed the #2 ranked JUCO in Titus Rubles. Cronin compared him to Rueben Patterson, but better rebounding skills. UC could only be so lucky if he can score like Rueben did.

They are certainly poised for another good run.

The return of Wright, Kilpatrick, and parker as starters will be huge. Losing Gates (his size) will hurt a little as UC doesn't have another true big body, but they have lots of length.

Gaines is 7'0, Mbodj is 6'10, and Ellis is reported to have grown another 2 inches to reach 6'10"...so, they have some options to fill in under.

Having Shaq Thompson who red-shirted last year and this Rubles kid should only help them at the 4 guard spot, as both are 6'7-6'8 and are made for that kind of spot. We'll see. Cronin has sure gotten UC back on the right track, that's for sure.

No Bengals....start of basketball season.

UC should be a top 10-15 team this season. Can't wait til the real games start. I'll enjoy watching us stomp the scrubs for the time being, though.

UC has had a great start. Solid wins over Oregon, Iowa State and Alabama, even if 'bama did end up losing to Dayton. XU lost for only the 2nd time, and could still end up being a decent team, to the surprise of many (including myself).

UC's one weakness is the half-court offense. They need to get more prep for the bigs down low because there are going to be some games, especially in BE play, where they are not always going to be able to get out and run.
