Yes, letting one of the best backs over the last 3 years walk on a rookie contract is worse than re-signing a 3rd string TE for two boxes of packing peanuts.
Think this is evidence they have a deal for Howard they like? I think Davis is a similar type of player.
Bears to sign Veteran Jets CB Buster Skrine
Decent Depth move. Gives us more flexibility with our 3rd round pick (crab another CB, Lineman, or maybe a project RB/WR)
He’s gone next year anyway. If we can get a solid pick for him, why not? What kind of comp pick do you think we’d get if he signed elsewhere? Why would they make a move to Davis when Howard is still on his rookie deal if they think they're similar players? Davis is such a run of the mill back... if they're going to do that, why not just wait a year?
Fuck... people want Howard gone bad, eh?

That’s the point I’m trying to make. If we can get a third rounder for him, I say we do it. Do you think we would get a 3rd round comp pick for him when he inevitably walks? I think it’s probably be more a 4th or 5th. We might be getting Davis to guarantee the comp pick next year too. What would we really get for him now? He's worth more to us in 2019 than a mid-late round pick.

What comp pick do you think we would get for him?I just don't think RB's have much of a market. Especially RB's like Howard who don't do much in the passing game. I think he's very valuable to us, but on the market? I just do not believe teams are willing to give anything substantial like a 3rd.
If we could? It's a toss-up. 2nd I would pull the trigger on... but that's not happening. I still think he's a very, very good runner.
He’s good. I think he benefitted a lot from the players around him and the bears dline. He’s good against the run and is good in coverage. His play with the packers will tell a lot about the quality of player he is. PFF ratings always Show he’s one of the best in the business, but he isn’t much of a ball hawk.Is Amos good? He just became a Bears traitor and joined Packer Nation. Unfortunately I live in TX and miss most NFC North games so I never see the teams.
I can see the idiots are still in full force on this board and still remain absolutely clueless on Howard.

You let Howard go now precisely because Howard is cheap and only has 1 year left, he's more valuable as a trade chip. You think any GM out there would give us anything for Howard if Howard was expensive? We just have to hope there are dope GMs out there who thinks like the idiots on this board thinking Howard is actually good.
He will walk after this year no matter what anyway, we should atleast get something for him.
Howard isn't very good you idiot. Figure it out already. Stats don't mean shit. Cohen is better by a mile. Just because you still can't see after THREE years, last year being a year where it's practically bolded and underlined for you, doesn't change that.
I swear the level ignorance by the "regulars" on this board is unreal. I mean, do any of you morons know what you're watching? You guys don't understand anything at all. Bunch of dummy monkeys ranting and raving like lunatics.

I wonder why. The word on the street is that we might be making a play for Le'Veon Bell.Bears restructured Mack's contract converting $13 million into signing bonus. Gives them about $11 million more in cap space.
