Chris Harris Jr. sitting out of voluntary workouts today in protest of stalled contract negotiations. About the only leverage he has. CHJ is arguably a top 5 corner in the league but at 8m/year, 23 other corner backs across the NFL make a lot more money. I think the Broncos will eventually get an extension done and voluntary workouts are....well....voluntary.

I think this decision is more the norm when guys are in CHJ's contract provision. This guy already gave the Broncos a discounted contract - he knows it - the team knows it - and the Bronco's front office obviously knows it. Harris needs to be rewarded with money - but without a long guaranteed term.

Well coming off a major injury if he doesn’t play amazing this year I can’t see him getting a big contract from anyone. Hell we saw the contract Ronald Darby got this year and he had the same injury Harris had and he’s quite a few years younger than Harris too.

The Denver Broncos got three more players under contract to kick off their offseason workout program.

On Tuesday, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, wide receiver Tim Patrick and linebacker Joseph Jones signed their one-year tender offers, the team announced.

Patrick and Jones were exclusive rights free agents, initially tendered on March 8. They will make $570,000 and $640,000, respectively, in 2019. The Broncos locked up fellow ERFAs Dymonte Thomas and Elijah Wilkinson on Monday.


Harris, though, was a restricted free agent who received a tender at the second-round level, worth $3.095 million — a major pay bump from the $705,000 he made last season. And well deserved.

The former Raiders castoff-turned-key Broncos cog has been a playmaker on a lunch-pail level. Converting from defensive end in 2017, when he collected the club's second-most sacks, Harris shined at nose tackle in 2018 with 39 tackles, 1.5 sacks, four pass deflections and an interception, blossoming under the tutelage of renowned line coach Bill Kollar.

Despite receiving almost half the snaps (391) as starting DE Derek Wolfe (710) and far less than starting NT Domata Peko (523), Harris graded out as Pro Football' No. 8 interior defender among a whopping 118 qualifiers. He scored better marks (90.8 overall rating) than Eddie Goldman, Jurrell Casey, Geno Atkins, Cameron Heyward, Ndamukong Suh, and DeForest Buckner, to name a few.

  Broncos TE Jake Butt (ACL) thinks he is "five months out."
  Butt has previously said he will be ready for training camp, and this timeline would put him on track. Of course, players are usually overly optimistic about their own recoveries. Denver brought back Jeff Heuerman, but Butt should still get every shot to win the starting job if he is healthy.

  Broncos coach Vic Fangio confirmed Phillip Lindsay (wrist) won't be ready for the start of OTAs.
  Bryce Callahan (foot) will also be a spectator at what the Broncos call bonus minicamp, which is held leading up to the draft in late April. Lindsay is making progress in his recovery from wrist surgery, but probably won't see much if any work during OTAs. The goal is for Lindsay, who topped 1,000 yards rushing as an undrafted rookie last season, to be up and running by the time training camp opens this summer.

What will set it up is Jano/Lindsay/Freeman they are going to make Flacco have a Season, one for the ages type of season. and in Turn break Records themselves.
