I hate the trade deadline because so many fans (not talking about anyone here) will believe anything they read and anyone can write an article on the web nowadays.

Apparently we are trading for everyone and trading everyone away.
Nice

I wouldn't be shocked if the Broncos did make a move especially if they win this weekend, but if they can beat the Ravens I'm guessing they will also feel pretty darn good about their roster and what they are building.

If we trade anyone away Baron Browning would make the most sense to me although he shouldn't be expensive this offseason with his injuries. Deondre Tillman is sitting inactive and is a solid pass rusher.

Cooper is a priority to re-sign, IMO and Bonitto will hit FA the year after. Browning probably the odd man out of the 3 based on injuries and really hasn't played that well this year. Up until this year he was playing really well but the injuries still a concern. Will be interesting what he does. Could also end up on a 1 year deal if he can't shake the injury bug down the line this year.

If we receive anyone in a trade it should be a TE...

I think Strnad has been good and while Barton has sucked at times he has been good at times where we probably don't make a move there. Kwon Alexander is also helping this team each week with his ability to cover and playmaking ability. Obviously not an every down backer but we might get by with Singleton on IR. Not much else we can do there. Strnad has taken advantage of the opportunity. Always liked him since he was at Wake but he didn't take advantage of the opportunity two years ago when he got the chance.

From people I have talked to the Broncos have made some calls. TE seems to be the one position they are willing to trade a day 2 pick to get a starting caliber type guy. They wouldn't mind finding a #2 RB and about a #3 or #4 type WR but both of those would be late day 3 picks.

I know the player they really really would love to get is Njoku, but Cleveland especially after winning this past Sunday is very dug in to not trade him. He had a great game for them and seems like whenever a QB not named Watson is in the game Njoku becomes a top-5 TE once again. He is also still relatively young so while they might view this season as a bust, they might be looking at Njoku as part of the foundation for the future.

Other names I have heard mentioned connected to the Broncos would be Evan Engram (might be the best TE fit in the entire NFL with Nix because of his ability to win in the short and intermediate where Nix wants to go) and Austin Hooper is another name I have heard.

I get the TE need and a good TE would really benefit Nix, but I really don't want this team to give up much draft capital. Tired of having a skinny draft due to lack of capital.

To me it depends on the TE. Adding a guy like Njoku would be huge for this offense this year and beyond. He is only 28 right now so still plenty of quality years left and would be a huge weapon for Nix with his want of throwing over the middle. He is also a plus in the run game as a blocker.

The Carolina Panthers waived defensive lineman DeShawn Williams on Tuesday to make room for newly-signed defensive tackle Sam Roberts, the team announced (via Panthers Wire).

Williams (6-1, 295 pounds) had three separate stints with the Denver Broncos, with the most recent tenure from 2020-2022. The 31-year-old defensive lineman totaled 113 tackles, 19 quarterback hits, eight pass breakups, 7.5 sacks and one interception in 46 games (34 starts) with the Broncos.

Williams was a 15-game starter in 2022, but Denver let him walk in free agency the following spring. He then signed with the Panthers, reuniting with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. Williams later tweeted, “They didn’t want me” when asked when he did not return to the Broncos.

After his one-year deal with the Panthers expired, Williams joined the Buffalo Bills this spring. He failed to make Buffalo’s 53-man roster, though, and then returned to Carolina, initially on the practice squad. The Panthers promoted Williams to the active roster in October and he appeared in 10 games this season, recording 13 tackles and a half-sack.

Williams will now hit the NFL’s waiver wire.

The Denver Broncos are returning to work after their bye in Week 14, and one former team member is simply getting back to work. Former Broncos quarterback Ben DiNucci announced that he has signed with a notable new team: the New Orleans Saints.

“I have fun news,” DiNucci said in a post on X on December 10. “I signed with the Saints this morning.

The team can afford to part ways with both backup QBs, probably would be okay if Williams departed, and I don't think Wallace even warrants an appreciation thread after that disaster with the Browns.

I think they need to bring Bolles back. I know everyone has an opinion on him, but he's definitely trending in the right direction and besides, we need an enforcer on the line who's going to be willing to mix it up with the defense in the event someone puts a late hit/etc on our franchise QB. Bolles is the closest thing we have on that unit to that unwritten, but extremely important role.

I'm sure they'll bring Dixon back, but unfortunately for Dixon, his price tag can't be as high as it would have been with Wilson at QB. Dixon would have been earning top dollar in that situation, but with Nix, Dixon will likely get far less work on the field. Which is good overall. Still an important role.

I'm on the fence with some of the others. Barton I could see being a good one to bring back. Can't have enough corners or offensive linemen either.

Thing is, the front office already has a plan for every position group. And as the seasons (college and NFL alike) wind to a close, plans for the future of this roster will become more clear. As fans we look at a FA group of 21 positions and thing, "oh no!" But to guys like Patton and Payton this is business as usual for the off season.
