Did I miss the part of the story where DK was also included in last night's trade?

There's RUMORS (and that's all it is - I doubt LV/SEAs staff is leaking credible info. - cause that means their job if they get found out) that Seattle said Geno and DK for Maxx Crosby. And LV said no. Wisely so. That's a no questions asked trade.. because Maxx is worth a 1st+... and Geno at a 3rd was already high and DK is prob. a 2nd at best. So the value doesn't work out at all.

It's why I wanted to trade DK last year when his value was higher. WRs/DBs/RBs, etc. they get moved around all the time. Nobody really seems to mind. DL/OT (that are borderline elite or elite)? They never get moved unless the player demands a trade (like Garrett). You could argue Thuney, but I think the Chiefs just simply can't afford him, and Thuney is not an amazing tackle. He's an amazing guard...

I think that's giving DK quite a bit of credit for knowing stuff.

I think DK is very aware of the stuff that affects DK. Even if he doesn't have his own efforts in keeping up to date in the ins and outs of the Seahawks front office, that's what he pays his agent for. Just because DK is a hot head doesn't mean it should be assumed that he's completely oblivious of situations that could cost him millions and derail his career.

Like Antonio Brown? We're all just assuming at this point...

DK has not shown Antonio Brown levels of crazy up to this point. I see DK as more a Terrell Owens personality than an Antonio Brown.

Yeah, Terrell is a good comparison... AB was a hot head but he didn't see how it could cost him money...

I certainly agree DK would be sensitive to anything that would detriment his career. I am not sure that automatically means he knew Geno was going to be traded though, and therefore also asked for a trade himself. It's not exactly a totally uncommon occurrence for high profile players to ask to be traded. And if DK knew the Hawks were trying to trade Geno, other people would have known as well. And if multiple people other than the principals knew, then we would also know because humans are pretty terrible at keeping secrets.

With comp picks, this is what our draft picks look like right now...

Yah I thought the 3rd round pick was earlier (although I did ask confirmation) but various sites have it wrong... apparently the 3rd we get is coming from the Davante trade... so yah, it's later. Kind of sucks, but I'll still take the extra 3rd if Geno is really asking for $40M+.

Nothing that happens behind the scenes is known, no matter if it's been reported or not. Fans opine about possible reasoning all the time, but no one really knows anything. Even most of the things taken as fact is really just taken with faith since we cannot know. The timing was interesting is all - for all we know DK requested the trade weeks ago and we just heard about it recently. Just like opining about what a player knows and when they knew it - it's all speculation.
