Every organization reaches a point where they just have to move on from the potential, out-of-options, he's young, etc. If the guy shines somewhere else, he shines somewhere else.

Beltre and Kirkman have had more opportunities than their production would dictate for our organization, yet have hung around burning up time and eating roster spots from other players IMO.
Time to cut the cord. Adios Amigos.

Did everyone fill out their billion dollar bracket? :hope:

I did and it's a damn good one.

However, due to current budget constrains I'd be willing to negotiate a very favorable deal with anyone who's interested.

Hope you don't have a Memphis vs Tenn final

Naw......I'm foolish, not stupid.

Memphis, when they shoot well - don't mean great either, just 47% or so - they can beat good teams. But they're lack of ability at the foul line makes them venerable in every game, regardless of opponent.

Tennessee plays tough in the paint, but can't shoot so much from the outside.

I'm guessing this is why Memphis is a # 8 and TN has to play in, or out tonight.

Horrific scene tonight. Aroldis Chapman was hit in the head and lay motionless for several minutes. I cannot even imagine it. I saw a couple of amateur videos of it and everyone in the park audibly gasped. Salvador Perez's line was clocked at 112 MPH off the bat. Perez was said to have left the field weeping he was so shaken up.

Get well Aroldis.

Damn it's annoying that we're 11 days from opening day and the game isn't being broadcast on the radio or TV by the Rangers.

Richard Durrett: "If things started today, I'd go with Darvish, Perez, Saunders, Scheppers and Lewis. That could change if Ogando can settle down. But at this point, I'm not convinced he's better than those other options. I would have never guessed that Scheppers would stay in the mix this long, but he's pitched well and has been consistent.

Ross has made it clear he wants to start, and, so far, he's gotten results. Another solid start could make things interesting. He's allowed two runs on nine hits in 8 2/3 innings pitched with a 1.27 WHIP this spring."

I don't think Lewis is ready yet. He is still working out some things.

I agree. I think Colby will be good for us. But I think he needs to work out some kinks in his mechanics.

Yu is the only one that REALLY looks ready at this time. Perez is close but Lewis and Harry need a little more work. As for Hanson and Saunders, no idea.

I am on a conference call. How did we score?

  • 1. Alex Rios singles on a sharp ground ball to first baseman Joey Votto, deflected by pitcher Jeff Francis. Josh Wilson scores. Prince Fielder to 3rd. Adrian Beltre to 2nd.
  • 2. Geovany Soto singles on a ground ball to left fielder Chris Heisey. Prince Fielder scores. Adrian Beltre scores. Geovany Soto to 2nd. Alex Rios advances to 3rd, on a throwing error by left fielder Chris Heisey.

Right. I feel good about Harrison and Colby both down the road. If they both have it going on it will be really awesome when Holland gets back. But that of course is in a perfect world.

Appreciate that. Rios has been doing alright.
