The idea of getting Choice in against any LH at OF or DH makes perfect sense. Plus he can bat against RH from time to time.

Like I said weeks ago. They will get him ABs if he continues to perform.

I believe this was my first chance to see Brinson. He made a good first impression. He got to 2nd very quickly. Long, Rios like strides.

Anybody see what the catcher's doing? He's done it twice now. He's looking back at the pitcher but throwing it to 1st. Very clever, but seems like that will backfire a lot.

One of you on here and it may be jta has stated Gallo will not make it as a 3rd baseman anyway. It would be as a 1b/DH. It will be interesting to see how he does at MB.

Gallo at 6'-5" ... he'd be the tallest 3bman in the AL by 2".

I'd expect Gallo to move to 1b to take advantage of his height and cut down on his errors ... or to RF to take advantage of his 3b arm. Moving him to 1b this coming season would create PT issues with Guzman who will also be at MB ... so perhaps TEX keeps Gallo at 3b for now with some time in OF and DH.

Gallo (amongst the Hickory alumni -- Brinson, Gallo, Mazara, Alfaro, Williams) needs lots of plate discipline work. Given MB pitcher-friendly park ... I'd also expect to see an offensive dropoff for the Hickory Bash Brothers in 2014. Good time for them all to learn about the strike zone and where it is.

Because Texas didn't sign choo to a 130 million dollar deal to dh. I understand what you're saying, but that's simply not going to happen.

They signed him for $130mil for his bat ... not his OF talent. Just because he's an OF ... doesn't mean he has to play there in the AL.

You want the best lineup ... well that is Choice in LF and Choo at DH ... better both offensively and defensively than Choo in LF and Mitch at DH. Not even close.

I think they got Choo never considering him to DH b/c Choice had not surfaced at that time.
