Now that we have a 2-game winning streak, I know there are some posters on here (without mentioning names) that are getting excited!

Cool, West. I've had an erection for a few hours following their latest win over the snakes. Plus young power guys Ruf and Brown are doing some bashing with the wood, so we have a solid chance at .500. Currently, the fifth WC team CIN is at that level. What a bunch of bozos. Surely they can be caught. All we need are two 6-game streaks and the freakin god of hopeless cases on our side.

I admire positive attitudes. There is always hope. Sizemore and Ruf are already showing what a few changes can bring to the offense. Brown may get inspired because of fear of losing his starting job. Any motivating factor is welcome. Good hitting can become contagious. Getting on base more will turn this offense in the right direction. Howard can stay on the bench and get rich and that won't bother me. Go with the producers!

They are only 10 out of the WC. They just need a 19-5 run like the Rays are on

Blanco is playing and hitting well. As mentioned, Ruf and definitely Sizemore are hitting well, Asche is slowly coming out of his slump, Brown is starting to swing the wood, and Rollins, Ruiz, and Utely are staying steady. I like Nieves at catcher and of course our bullpen is pretty darn good. A couple of six-game winning streaks will get us right back into the hunt.

Oh no! Just read that Amaro expects Howard to be the starting 1st baseman again next year. Also it has been Rynos decision to bench him. Amaro wants him back in the lineup tonight. That means Ruf will hit the bench again. Ruf will never develop without a chance to play full time. But if Howard has a big game with the bat tonight I can live with it for now. Interesting that rumors are swirling that no one wants Howard even if the Phillies eat all but 5 million dollars of his yearly contract ..The drama continues.

Ah shit Northeast. Those rumors if true, just plain suck and it is so typical of braindead to kill something that is emerging by benching Ruf in favor of Howard going into freakin' next year!!

He should be batting 6th or 7th. He needs to earn his way back to cleanup. This theory about someone that gets the big bucks needs to be coddled is an Amaro defect. IMO

Think positive. The Phillies record is in the dump but they can still target .500 while trying to play good baseball. Even if the odds are against them. It's been a drag of a year but nobody gives up with more than 2 months to play.

The last time a team made the wildcard with a 0.1 POFF at the end of July was never.
