Melvin Gordan is the obvious answer. Stays healthy and he will get 300 touches which will easily put him over 1000+ yards.

The one wild card of course will be how quickly Jameis Winston transitions to the league. He likely will get all 16 starts and he would have to be pretty bad for him to throw for less than 3200+ yards with his WR's.

I don't see any other obvious choices. The best WR went to a QB challenged team (Cooper), the other WR that is NFL ready went to a place where he will have to fight for targets (White), Gurley is likely to be put on a SEVERE pitch count this year (doubt he tops 200 touches). Parker is a possession WR not a game breaker which means a huge season from him is really unlikely. TJ Yeldon could sneak into the conversation I suppose.

Who is your pick?

Pretty close call between Amar Cooper and Melvin Gordon.

A sleeper pick...Senquez Golson...slot CB the Steelers took in the 2nd rd...most likely will be the 3rd, worse case 4th CB, but they really like his ball hawking ability.

Other sleeper pick...The early word on Beasley is he's going to be a pass rush specialist the early part of this year until Quinn feels he's ready to contain the edge vs the run....he could have 5 or 6 sacks though.

Not a Cutler fan either but like I said they will be passing like crazy this year so White should see plenty of targets. Last year the #2 guy saw about 130 targets so that is about what I would expect for White. Cooper is maybe the only other guy I could see getting more targets but the thing for Cooper is he has a QB that doesn't like to pass beyond 5 yards so I just don't think his yards per catch will be as good as that of White as Cutler loves to air it out and that fits White perfectly. Throw in like I said with the Bears have Jeffrey he will be taking a majority of the double teams where Cooper will be the main guy that teams focus to stop for Oakland.

You are projecting White into Marc Trestman's system IMO. The Bear's are going to run the ball a TON more under Fox.

The Bear's are a sneaky team to make a big jump this season. Trestman was in over his head. Fox will pound the ball and, like the Cowboy's last year, will show that the strength of that team is the OL not the QB. Last year the Bear's ran the ball 355 times. I bet you anything that Fox is looking at the numbers and hoping to run it 500 times this coming season.

Fox has changed over the last couple of years plus more than anything I am thinking of his OC who actually had to have John Elway tell him midseason the importance of the run game. After the St. Louis game Elway came and talked to Gase and from rumors of the conversation Gase made it sound like he hardly knew what a run game was. Now some of that could be Manning being the QB but Gas comes from a background first in The Greatest Show on Turf plus then playing with Manning so all he has ever known is passing the ball a ton. And even if they do run it more we are talking about the #2 WR on a team with a decent QB who loves to throw and will receive a lot of one-on-one opportunities with Jeffrey on the other side. I would bet that if White stays healthy he gets somewhere in the 130 targets range.

Wow I came in here late and thought i'd bring up a name nobody knew of Tyler Lockett. Surprsed he's been mentioned so many times already. I love the kids game even before the hawks picked him. He is electric, and should also put up some highlights on special teams.

I think Gordons a great pick, but the last time SD took a rb in the first round it didn't work out.

Im gonna go off the board by staying chalk. Mariota. League loves qb's. I think he plays very well. STill can't believe TB took the rapist over him.

I think Gordon is a good choice because he will likely become their #1 out of the gate. We will see whether Gordon's success was about his skill set or his offensive line at Wisconsin soon. I'm a little pessimistic about how well he'll do in the league though.

I'm not sure Cooper will make as big of an impact because of Oakland's limitations at QB. Carr may be promising but is he going to be able to make Cooper a quality starter? Who knows.

I'm going with DeVante Parker. Tannehill has become a pretty good quarterback and Parker will probably take over Mike Wallace's position. With his size and ability to come down with the ball he will be a solid red zone target.

Parker is a good bet...Cooper is a special player imo...he should click with Carr and become his crutch, much like Roddy was for Matt...I expect a lot of targets to Cooper.

You could be right about Gordon, but doesn't have to gain 2,000 yds, I think if he's anywhere as good as the hype he should get 1200+ yds if they ride him.

There isn't a running back in the league I would expect to hit 2,000 yards. 1,200 would prove his worth IMO.

Melvin Gordon is vastly overrated. A guy to watch out for IMO is Duke Johnson. The best all around back in the draft IMO. Is a big play waiting to happen in the passing and run game. Cleveland has a very good OL and will want to play tough D and run the ball.

Yeah, ok...Cleveland will also "want" to win more than about 3 or 4 games. The other team gets a vote though.

Surprised to see more than 1 vote for Tyler Lockett. I don't really see that happening because he probably won't get more than 2 catches a game on average, but I'm hoping he ends up being a Tate replacement and helps our return game immediately.

Gordon seems like a safe bet with his college pedigree and relatively clean bill of health, and he should get most of the opportunities in the SD backfield from week 1.

Last 5 years of QB's have been junk maybe I'm wrong
I'm just playing the odds. Nfc South isn't very good and Winston could Bradford his way to ROY

Got to say I like what I'm hearing, little surprised, but put a smile on my face for sure.:suds:

Hope you guys are on the money, that would be very cool with me.

I think the big thing with Lockett is he gets a nice little boost because of his special teams ability. Throw in since teams will be stacking the box to stop the run on a more regular basis that should give Lockett some nice one on one chances to use his speed and get open. I also think he is a great fit because of his shiftiness and intelligence to work well with a QB like Wilson who uses his legs to buy time in the pocket.

That would be crazy for Seattle to not take better advantage of Lockette than that. I haven't seen him play a lot, but each time I saw him play the past two years he looked to me like he is a special player. Certainly not a favorite to win OROY, but I think he has a legitimate shot to become Wilson's new best friend.

The Seahawks tend to break in rookie WRs slowly. So maybe later in the season, he could make some noise as a WR.
