I grew up about 5 miles from Cap Centre. Went to every home game that first year. I enlisted in the Navy before year two but had season tickets for years after my enlistment. That was back when the Islanders were are nemesis.

Yep - me too. I have rooted for them since their initial season when they won 8 games. I also remember going to that Easter morning game 7 4 OT loss to the Islanders. No doubt I have seen my fair share of letdowns. It would be great if they can take this game & show us that this is not the same old Caps. Regardless - I am proud of how they have fought back thus far. Go Caps!

But they said Trotz was the answer. He was the man to get them back to the top. BTW his former team Nashville has moved into the next round or past the 2nd round for the first time now that Trotz is not there.

Yep - I feel like I have taken a few punches to the gut w/ the Caps ouster & that horrible performance last nt by the Wizards. I kind of feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the field goal. I fall for this crap every time & am always let down.

Worst part is my older brother left the DMV for Pittsburgh in his early 20's and didn't start watching hockey until he moved there. This was during the Lemiuex era. So now every year during holidays he shows up with this smug grin and his fresh Stanley Cup championship T shirt on. We're not speaking right now. He knows better than to call me any time soon.
