I wonder if Scott McCloughan is planning a lawsuit based on wrongful termination. Bruce seems to be a prudent financial guy cap wise, there has to be a reason why, if true, that there has been no other offer to Kirk since this last one and it might explain the true reason why Scott was dismissed.

Something tells me they settle with Scot. The last thing Dan or the NFL really wants is dirty draws being shown to the world. Because the Skins would need to prove cause, and while I see Bruce as a shrewd Cap and PR guy, something tells me they are not bright enough to keep the records needed to fire some one for cause.

You dont really think the Caps are going to disappoint do you?? They will get to game seven of the second round, look strong through the first two periods... and lose in Caps fashion to an otherwise telegraphed shot with 30 seconds left.

The amazing thing to me was when the hired Trotz. All the people in the "know" (Canadian press) celebrated the hiring of Ovechkin's first real coach. I wondered why a guy who had never got past the 2nd round of the playoffs was getting so much credit. They have wasted a great players careers with crappy coaches. Correct, they cannot sign everyone and stay under the cap. Maybe that is what they need. It is a simple game when it comes to playoffs. Put one or two guys in the crease and you pay the price.

I heard Trotz say the Caps are right there, Toronto is getting lucky bounces. He is right, because they are putting their bodies in places to get lucky bounces. They can still win but they can't win playing a regular season style.
