I was all in on Caps last night. Didn't watch one pitch of the Nats game.

Good article and it displays the many aspects of what his job involves. I am not down on him as much as some.

Scot ought to tell his wife to be a little more quiet.

Liz is a good writer & its interesting to learn about this behind the scenes stuff

but its funny that for as long as that article was ...

it has nothing to do with football

just more "winning off the field"

:poke:

While its interesting to hear about how upset Bruce got during the owners meetings ...

I start to think that rather then winning on the field we have become accustomed to getting joy from this Jerry Springer drama (FUCK YOU MARA !!! etc.)

As I was reading this article I kept asking myself ... would Bruce's behavior be similar if he were the Packers or Steelers GM ?

And ... how would our other local teams GM/owner handle similar situations if mis-information was being put out there by the media ?

I think Dan needs a foile. That guy used to be Vinny, I much prefer Bruce to Vinny.

It is funny that the article is primarily about off the field things but things that are still important.

I know it is in vogue to have a fit about SM and Bruce. I am not feeling that. Although I hoped for the best when SM was hired I quietly listened to the time bomb ticking. There is a reason he has been hired and fired so often. Kind of sad when you think about it because the guy clearly has some skills.

And no I do not want Dan wanting a player so bad that he tells the current GM to do whatever he has to get him but it is HIS club whether we like it or not.

I am interested in seeing how this draft plays out. I think it is largely going off of SMs board but of course now the scouts and Gruden will have more say. I think Allen is primarily the tiebreaker. Unless of course you see another crazy QB move.

Sadly I do see another crazy QB move in the very near future. And saying well its Dans team is kind of like saying.. well he is the President. Atleast the President can ONLY be in office for eight years. We are stuck with King Danny until he dies, and being rich he will likely outlive all of us.

Yes I know you see another QB move, you have mentioned it once or twice.

I didn't say I support Dan's moves like the Griffin move, what I am saying is what you said. We are stuck with him. My only advice is change teams or drive a bus around Potomac on the off chance that steering might break and take out the owner of the Redskins.

There are no other options, the team is a cash cow and he is not going to sell it.

agree Snyder is going to be Snyder and Bruce is probably the best person to handle him.

Also agree draft should operate as normal. Its a crap shoot more often then not.

My only issue with Bruce is the lying.

To me it's comes across as disrespectful & as if he believes fans of the team have the intellect of children.

Like we would not figure out SM was not really dealing with a death in his family ?

And I have a hard time believing a billion dollar company does not have the public relations staff to deal with any false stories in the media that might be going around.

If Dunkin Donuts had a negative story going around ... do you think they would just ignore it ?

There are times in business when its not in the interest of a company to be forthcoming with information.

But as fans of this team, who have invested our lives into this organization, its as if we are stock holders & deserve some basic level of information.

For example ... we were told SM had authority of the organizations personnel when he was hired.

However, we learned recently that was not the case because of the financial checks & balances Bruce could hold over his head.

That kind of information would not put the team at a disadvantage to be made public ... and fans should know how the team is being operated and not being led to believe false misconceptions.

Without naming names I still can't believe posters here actually argued that it was very possible that Scott missed the combine because he was still grieving his grandmother's death. That was amazing to me.

SMGM has been fired because of drinking issues . he has built 2 different super bowl teams so he has an eye for talent

BA's ego got in the way on this and its compounded by his lies .

SMGM deserved better period

No need to apologize but it was such a far fetched story I still can't believe you and others bought it.

I never believed it, chiefly because there's no credibility to be gotten from our front office. If at 10am Bruce Allen told me that it's 10am, I wouldn't believe him an would go check the time myself.

The reason why SM was fired was mainly because ole' dickhead didn't want anyone threatening his authority. He was hired as GM in 1999, added the title team President later and believes himself talented enough to do both. From a Bruce perspective, SM was not needed before the hire and ONLY did so to calm a building fan resentment against his Bullshit.

The funny thing is the Redskins do have a PR guy, Tony Wylie. I am sure he gets his marching orders from Dan. The misinformation has been a standard in the FO since way before Bruce. Why they do it, no idea. I can tell you I know for sure that Dan was shifty way before he was the Redskins owner.

Thank Gawd!! I do not understand the NHL and their seeding. No. 1 versus No. 2 overall team in round 2. Just doesn't make sense. Western conference has already lost their top two teams, although Anaheim and Edmonton weren't far behind.

Especially when it's Pittsburg yet again to face the Caps. It kinda makes winning the regular season a joke.
