Yeah generally not a fan of the team making negotiations so public but they do have a point. Someone should tell this guy rookie contracts are slotted and there is really no room for negotiations. Screw him, I hope he sits out the season and gets nothing.

Something tells me he didnt want to go to the Bolts and thinks if he bitches long enough they will simply release his rights Joey Bonehead was all about the possibility of going to the big toilet bowl in the south. His agent is doing him a dis-service because his only plays here are to

1. Sign and get over it
2. Not sign and sit out the year and risk being drafted in the 7th round next year.
3. Request to have his right traded, but then the Bolts could trade his rights to some place even worse.

I remember when he was picked the concensus was he was picked too high. Now I'm sure they regret the pick. But if he is unsigned I don't believe he goes back into the draft, SD retains his rights. So unless he changes he will probably sit, then they trade him after the season. But for what?

But for what?

No less than a first round pick. What's the story here anyway? I thought each pick was designated a certain price per the bargaining contract. Are they low balling him from where he was picked or is he wanting more than the standard offer. Who's the real asshole here?

san diego wont do off set language which all previous 3rd overall picks got . that being said bosa is being stupid because once he goes back in the draft he wont be 3 overall . he wont be able to work out for other teams , go to the combine again either because the chargers retain his rights up to the new draft

Draft right only extend for one year (or basically until the next draft). So in the event Bosa never signs, he then reverts to draft eligible status again and could re-enter next years draft. So the chargers wont release his rights and make him a free agent. They could try and trade his rights to another team. But if he really doesn't sign by the end of the 2016 season, the Chargers simply lose his rights at that point.

Can you elaborate on the language they are omitting?

That is interesting that they don't retain his rights, thanks Shark. Hardly seems fair. What if the player/agent are being unreasonable, why should the team lose the rights to the player?

Look on the flip side. What if the team decided all they would pay this guy as was a 7th rounder?? Should he be forced to sign or the team holds his rights forever?? Its in both parties interest to get a deal done.

If they dont, Bosa runs the risk of losing millions, and the Chargers run the risk of getting NOTHING for a top three draft pick.

I still think he is trying to force them to trade his rights.

off set language pays him a guarantee but allows him to "double dip " should he gets cut before 4 years what the chargers are doing is offering him more guaranteed money in lue of that offset. bosa wants both

Interesting

Something tells me this will be a big topic in the next CBA. Owners are NOT going to want to give up the non shared profits from preseason games without a way to make up for the lost earnings.

How has Cravens looked on the field so far? I haven't gotten to see much pre season he's definitely happy to be in DC

Showed some flashes and had some learning moments. Overall positive and becoming a fan favorite with his interactions on and off the field.

Looks like he will be in with the 1's on third down in nickle for now. He's been with the ILBs all TC -they want him to master that position initially.
