WOW, talking about baseball losing another one of the great ones, they just lost one of the greatest of the greats. The man from Mobile, Alabama was a class act, a great human being, and a super star on the field. At only about 175 pounds he hit with more power than anyone I've ever seen for his size. He didn't do it with big shoulders, muscle, and bulk. He did it by mastering the technique of snapping his wrists when he made contact with the ball which generated torque and power. Very few players of his size have ever been able to do this. He was one of my favorite players ever.
Glad to see you mention how he snapped his wrists. I saw him show that a time or two and applied that to my swing in baseball, golf and a couple of other things .... in increased my power/distance. Always had Hank to thank for that.

It's often been said that the hardest thing to do at the professional level in any sport is to hit a baseball coming at you in the batter's box with only a split second to react. Obviously I didn't do that well enough or I would have been in the majors rather than the minors. It's also been said that Ted Williams had such great eyesight that he could actually see the stitches on the ball once the pitchers released it to know what kind of pitch was coming at him with the rotation of the ball and maybe that's why he is the only player who hit .406 in a season. But Hank Aaron blew my mind with reaction speed by not only being able to hit a pitch but sending it anchors away at he same time with the snapping of his wrists. Hopefully you will appreciate my Navy terminology here.

Helluva a coach. He was always a threat with his match up zone. RIP Coach.

I remember when Coach K at Duke had a 40+ game winning streak at home against non-ACC teams and Coach Chaney brought his Temple Owls into Cameron and ended this winning streak.

Joe Gibbs, 3 time Super Bowl champion, and 5 time NASCAR Cup series champion, and hall of famer in both sports, had his most emotional victory ever today when he watched his 18 year old grandson, in his first start ever, win in the NASCAR Xfinity series.

Good things happen to good people!
