True but because we're all pulling for Harris to build a world-class organization, Jacoby might take another look our way.Brissett would be perfect. I just think he's gonna have better options in FA.

If Howell plays well that is great. I agree. That will at best cause a QB controversy in the rookie HC first year and at worst the fan base is giving Peters the side eye for not drafting Harrison jr.It serves two purposes...
1. It allows time for proper preparation of the rookie. He gets time to know the playbook from front to back and work on a few things that he needs to improve upon. (footwork, release, etc.) He also gets to see the starter during live games (the trade deadline is October 3st1= 7 games) Understand how games are called in the NFL by listening in on game days. Perhaps most importantly, it points out the success that patience brings in opposition to that old "sink or swim" BS (Perhaps it becomes a trend)
2. It hopefully, increases Howell's trade value! I'd certainly be pulling for him to play well before I benched him in favor of the re-signed Brissett.
We'll have to disagree here. I have no problem giving a QB a year to learn. That's old school stuff. Fans are another story. You have to have someone who can play but not play so badly the fans are going nuts. You also need a HC that can explain it.If he isn’t ready don’t draft him , number 2 overall has to be the day one starter you have to be able to beat out the latest placeholder qb if you are number 2 overall or the red flags will blow up
Jacoby is mid level at best so maybe it can work. Depends on the new coaching staff. New regime needs to find a WR and TE unless someone wasn't playing up to par.True but because we're all pulling for Harris to build a world-class organization, Jacoby might take another look our way.
I watched that 17 play highlight film of Caleb earlier. I am not going to rag on him, what I noticed was pretty much every completion came after the WR made his break. That can happen on certain routes in the NFL but he will have to learn to throw on time and to a spot on other routes. Not many college QBs throw with that much anticipation. The closest I saw to doing that was Penix but last night was not too good.Ideally you would want a place holder that can be a mid-level QB so the fan base is not calling for the rookie to start if he is not ready.
