No it's not you want it to be because you want to make an argument but in the end they both did what was best for themselves and their family. Sure TB already has millions but why play for someone that want to underpay you, is in rebuild mode, with a coach who was willing to trade you the year before? Both did what they feel is best that's really all this boils down to.
Yeah, uhm no.

"No it's not you want it to be"...Yeah...No it's not. I don't want it to be.

"because you want to make an argument"...Nope. Don't care. Really. TB left. Even if he wanted to stay there is no way the pats were going to be able to pay him. They only had $1 million for Cam. I would have been shocked if Brady played for $1mil.

DH sitting out for fear of not being able to see a newborn for almost a year or contacting a deadly virus for which the fear level was extreme in the spring of 2020 is NOT the same thing as leaving to pursue fame, fortune and glory. No argument there.

I personally have no issues with his leaving. I do feel others some on the board feel as if TB12 owed the team and fan base something and that he should have ended his career as a Patriot. But it was obvious to me in 2018 /19 that was not going to happen.

As to the Hightower comments, well good luck Brady knows how to pick any defense apart this Pats will not show him anything he hasn't seen before.

I predict

Bucs 31
Pats 20
I have now qualms with Brady leaving. My beef is with how he left and I feel he owed the team and fans more honesty.
He said he made up his mind in 2018. Then he signed a two year option contract after 2019.
Then he stayed silent until the very las minute.
He was not honest.
Early in his career he never chased stats, he chased wins, until those wins started to become stats. And he stuck around long enough that those stats became records. Then he started going after the records that bothered him, like PM winning with two different teams. Good for him, I'd rather TB own all the records and 1 ups PM on everything.

So again to reiterate, They both did what the feel was best for their family? And Brady chose to keep winning and you somehow, magically find a way to dismiss it.

A lot of people had kids that year, a lot of people went to work. He made a choice to stay at home and get paid while others went to work and did their jobs. Myself included, there was an NFL season a season he chose to sit while Tom chose to play, to work for his money, I guess some could see that as the wrong thing.

Why the fuck should he be honest, do you lead some double life? Since when has TB. BB, or the Pats be honest, forthright and open? Not the organization I was privy to the last twenty years, Why would Brady owe the fans or organiztion anymore than they had ever given. Man you got your rose colored glasses on today, that or you are okay with double standards.

That's not it, I think we view things differently. I understand people sitting last year, don't respect it but I understand it, but to come back after sitting out a year and make a comment about a guy that did play, no room in my wheelhouse for that. Part of me hopes TB12 romps the Pats and runs Donte' down after the game.

Amazing! What do any of us know about Brady's reasons for leaving?
Reporters said? Other players said? Brady said?

Not so sure about that. You can't discount Brady reading a D and just hitting the open man. We took that for granted but in the end that is why the Pats had so much success. Brady was a master at knowing where the open man was going to be.
I cannot disagree.

You both are among my favorite posters. I'm not trying to join us together and sing kumbaya. I see each point.

YT - I think you are reading YR wrong on the win the argument front. Each back and forth has been slightly different and I'm reading each response as peeling back a different slice of the onion. I do agree completely with your perspective and that article about him today hits the nail on the head. The only time he's ever been transparent has been when transparency happens to meet the narrative he's presenting. And that transparency met the narrative often enough that we all thought he was "shucks one transparent dude". He wasn't, never was and any expectation he was is off.

YR - surprise, no comment for you. We have always been close enough on this subject.

I can understand all of that.
At the point last year that players had to make a decision to opt in or out I did not feel opting out was the right thing to do. I viewed the pandemic as a...borderline hoax. I was anti mask, anti 6' separation, anti business closing. I am essential, I have not missed a day since Feb 2020.
I knew some people that got the virus and it was a non issue. I knew of some people who had died from other causes and it was labeled as C-19. Then I started to be exposed to other people who got the virus and it did damn near kill them. A number of people. And they had debilitating symptoms that lasted months. While I still do believe the virus and the fear were used as political weapons, I do not hold ones decision to try and keep themselves and their family safe against them.
And all I am saying is THAT is different than TB moving to Tampa.
Keeping your family safe, or keeping yourself from being isolated from your family is NOT the same thing as chasing money. People, high paid athletes in particular should chase money. And stats. And records. And Glory.
But when you have made hundreds of millions of dollars already, you are not chasing millions more so you can keep your family safe, whether the idea of keeping your family safe is a political weapon or not. Not the same thing. Not even remotely.

I moved to Tennessee for my job. And more money and better living conditions for my family. I am the same as Tom Brady, but on a totally different scale. I could have stayed in Virginia and found a new job that I didn't really want for less money, I could have stayed with the company that I was with and traveled to different projects for short terms and left my family in VA or I could have moved to Vermont and found a job there for less money, but I didn't. I moved to TN like Tom would have if he were in my shoes. For the money. I let my former employer know up front though.

Donta sitting out because of CDovid-19 fears is a completely different scenario than Tom leaving for Tampa money, the chance to win without Bill, the chance to top Peyton winning with two teams, etc.. Whether you agree with him sitting out our not, it is different.

114 degrees at Ft. Irwin CA
I hit 119 at Irwin. In 1973 i passed through needles it was 134 on the bank temperature sign. Questions remain about the accuracy of that sign.
2011 I was in Qatar at 132.
Hottest day I remember? Qatar in August with the "breeze" coming off the Red Sea - 122 degrees and 95 percent humidity.

Off season question for the day: Can you take the heat? What is the hottest day you have been exposed too?

114 in San Antonio in late August 1984 and 114 in Death Valley Memorial Day Weekend 1994.

117 in Hendersonville TN July 2012 was fuckin brutal.
