Day 35 You Be Trippin ( I may have chosen Lucy In The Sky but some people still think that song is not about an Acid Trip.

Jefferson Airplane: White Rabbit

Tom Petty: Don't Come Around Here
Both great songs.
Tom Petty.

Creedence.

They always make me think of my step dad.
Hard to beat Creedence but I am huge Doors fan so I am torn and will hold my vote in case I need a tie breaker

Day 36:

The Doors: The End

CCR: Fortunate Son
Fortunate Son. I like Credence and this song is one of their best... I like the Doors too.

YReb - I know you've asked us to listen to each song in it's entirety, but 11:44 of the Doors will put me to sleep (mellow sleep, not bored sleep).

Yeah should have chosen Riders on the Storm. At least I did not choose the Fountain of Lamneth most likely my favorite song all time, if not #1 it's up there.

Copy that.

My step dad had a CCR 8 Track that he would sing to in the car.
Doesn't matter how much I like the Doors. Todd is here with me now.

I served under Morrison's father who was a U.S. Novey Admiral and had command of the 7th Fleet in 1969. When asked about Jim he said, "I have no son."

Morrison was prophetic with "The End."

Love the CCR enthusiasm in every song.

Have to go with "the End"

Definitely CCR for me. Having lived the Nam days, it is an anthem..
By the way, I was poor back then with no father. Nobody coming to my rescue.

The end is depressing. It was great "poetry" back in the day and of course I loved the Doors - until I learned what a sick fuck he was!

sunday songs

So, a band that at one point was considered the best in the world versus a really, really good garage band?

I know, I know... It's about song versus song...

Sunday Bloody Sunday.
