My son, while in Afghanistan working as an escort, gave a ride for an ITT Country Manager.
He asked the manager if he had anthing going. Manager asked if he had any fiber optic experience.
He said no but my dad does. Manager said, "send me a resume"
Manager hired him the nexr day. He had to hire somebody before he could go back to the states.
A month later the new Country Manager was assigning work and asked him, "what do you know?"
He said, "everything I've learned since I got here"
New Country Manager says, "Oh, you knew somebody" and sent him to work.

!5 years later he is a well respected Project Manager doing data cabling.....
Really? I know the struggles.
I worked as a male escort when I was young as well.

It was a benign statement and not a true description of the band.
Maybe to Go Go aficionados Belinda was just the cute girl in the front (before she got...plump) and all the others had the talent, but to the rest of the world, she's the only name known because she had a solo career as well that put her name out there.

The rest of those girls? I've never heard of them.

But I was not trying to slight them OR offend you. Belinda was just the only name I knew without googleing them.
No offense at all, this is just a light conversation and I'm certainly not a Go-gos expert. I too can't name any of the others without Googling, I'm just aware that they are out there.

It's a sad world though if we think only the people we are aware of have contributed to music, or engineering or sports or anything else. I'm not pinning that to you here, it's just light conversation.

Today is the 53rd anniversary of the fourth day of Woodstock.

Woodstock was originally intended to be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 15,16 & 17. Horrific rain, power outages and a crowd ten times larger than expected push the concert to Monday August 18, 1969.

An upcoming young guitarist started the last day at 9:30 in the morning with a song called "Hi Joe".

His name? Jimi Hendrix.

For you youngsters, it may not mean a lot. I was 13,800 miles away from upstate New York,, but heard about a half million kids having a weekend party at Matt Yazgur's Farm.
