Definitely hearing some rumblings that Kelly will be gone after this year given the teams slow start and unlikely good finish.

the 49er's aren't getting rid of him after this season, and i highly doubt Kelly quits on his own.

Anybody can talk and therefore 'rumble', but unless you prove it was York or Kelly who said things, no one believes it.

I'll be a little surprised to see Kelly quit. COnsidering colleges these days, I know he'd be paid plenty in college and there'd be a line of colleges waiting to hire him. Still, I think he wants to stay in the NFL.

If he bails now, he may not get another chance in the NFL

Kelly is not going anywhere. My hope is that York sees the light and fire Baalke.

i remember reading Kelly likes repetition because his player then execute certain plays better? This makes sense from the offensive standpoint, but repetitive plays also make it easier on the defense.

thinking of the previous games............i can't see the details of each running play, but it APPEARS to be TOO repetitive? There doesn't seem to be enough counter plays here and there? MAYBE that is why we don't do well in the second halves, not enough adjustments?

Honestly, i would prefer if chip kelly was fired. I think they need to blow this situation up bring in someone who can actually coach on this level and let them choose their qb and build from scratch. Kelly's still of play does not work on this level he needs to go back to college. However, i know this will not happen so he has one more season to show how unfit he is for the pros.

You do that, and all I can say is you'd better have a contingency plan.....who replaces Kelly in the short term? Who are you gonna bring in, and pay out another contract at the position. The further we go down this hell hole, the more ridiculous the franchise looks, and the chances of landing a good coach gets harder.

Kelly will get a pass. We have no talent on this team. Hard to win with talent. Lets be honest Jets have way more talent they us and we have looked better then them.

I would let chip finish out this year and then i would bring in holmgren or shanahan to coach this team. We need someone to instill a strong foundation and instill a level of discipline that is clearly missing. Plus, with the cultural connection that both those coaches have with the niners would actually excuse the york's regularly hitting us over the head with nostalgia. Fire baalke, move up gamble and allow them to build their offense with a new qb.

Kelly sucks but i admitted it is not going happen. I was not a fan of the hire when it happened and i am still not. His style of offense will never work on this level and he is grinding our defensive players into the ground. Baalke clearly needs to be fired because of the lack of talent but this scheme is not going to get us to winning a superbowl. I mean look at the eagles now without chip with basically the exact same players chip had last year outside of qb

Eagles are starting to come back down to earth. 2 bad games by Wentz.

3 and outs were killing the D but last game D had no excuses what they did.

I dint mind the hire because he is a football guy and a smart coach. I think when he gets his players in we will be better but u might be right I dont think we can win in the playoffs or a super bowl with this type of offense.

No way on those 2. Past their time and they havent been good coaches in 10 years.

I didn't want Kelly either, I wanted Shanahan. But I don't think it is his style of play that is killing the defense. Alot of people who don't watch the 49ers are assuming he is running the same uptempo office that he was running in College and at Philly. He isn't. The offense is misiring because we lack talent on offense at the skill positions. The coaching staff is scheming players open, and the QB is just not getting the ball there all season. If there is one area to possibly blame Kelly it is in the run game where the zone read scheme isn't working and it could be that the lineman we have and RBs are not suited to that style of play. Our defense is struggling because we simply don't have the talent. Things weren't good when Bowman was in there. We have special teams players now filling our linebacker positions. Our porous D falls on Baalke more than anyone else.

This was his failure in Philadelphia.

When things don't work, he makes them even simpler. And it's not even necessarily what's the best fit for the talent he has on hand, it's "these are the five plays I want to run and I'm going to keep running them".

I wanted Shanahan last year but having an annual rotation of coaches isn't going to work. That is Al Davis style. I don't want Holmgren. Too old and out of the league too long. He didn't exactly wow anyone in Cleveland and we need a coach who is going to be around several years to work through our roster issues. Not one that is ready to enter a retirement home.

That is the point, we are the 49ers we build for superbowls anything else is an absolute failure.

When the coaches are scheming players open but your quarterbacks can't get the ball to the receivers, it speaks to the lack of talent on the roster. Had we had even a decent QB all season that would could have just made a few decent down the field throws, the offensive output would look different.

But, you don't want the hot young name either. Look at Washington, Miami, and New York.
