There are 1000x more NFL fans in Toronto then CFL fans. Toronto is more then ready for the NFL. It makes to much sense not to make it happen.
Toronto is now the 4th largest city in North America.

I think it goes L.A first then Toronto

Does Toronto even have black people?

j/k....I kid, I kid

I like the Argos' helmet, uniforms and colors. I'm a blue freak. I also like the Leafs and the Toronto college team's colors.

Maybe if and when we get a team we can make them the Argos

Jerry Jones will do everything he can to block this move. Most of Oklahoma are Cowboys fans. Ya know its gotta be tough for OU fans to root for a Texas team. Cowboys would lose a lot of fans, and Jonsey won't like it.

In all seriousness though, I would love to see it. Oakland is horrible, and Oklahoma deserves a football team.

By that criteria Sad Diego should be the team thinking about relocating huh.

believe me, nobody is going to make a habit of driving 450 miles, plus or minus, one way, to an NFL game in OKC, from anywhere in Colorado. and even if, the percentage would be miniscule.

That is quite a haul, but I could see some of those hardcore members going for it.

On second thought, 450 one way....................................

If this was "my" season, I would think about it.

Clay Bennett is an easy whipping boy here in Seattle only because he was the face of the whole move, but we know he was just Sterns' pawn.

My blame in order...

1 a. Seattle City Gov't
1 b. Howard Schultz
David Stern

My blame in order is

1) Howard Schultz, was there ever a more inept owner ever? The moves the Sonics made under his ownership border on unbelievable stupid. A back stabbing money grubbing whore. How much money is enough? The dude would sell his grandma for a buck.

2) David Stern frigging douche bag. Got his feelings hurt when politicians in the state capital told him they had bigger problems then funding a new stadium. He's held a grudge ever since.

3) Seattle gov't, they could have done much better. In their defense the economy was tanking due to the real estate market tanking. The timing was as bad as could be.

As far as Clay Bennett goes , he the anti Howard Schultz, he was working for his city and won. He's a hero there and I just wish Schultz had half the community spirit that Bennett has. We may hate him here in Seattle for doing what he did, but if he did that for Seattle he would be a hero here also.

pretty much the most reasonable post I've seen from a Sonics fan on this matter.

Oakland isn't anything special but have you ever been to Oklahoma City? Of all places to move to, you can see the whole town in like 20 minutes or so. I don't see how they could support both NBA and NFL to be honest.

If it ever happened I would have a one time out clause as a Raider fan.

33 years of following this team has been great but mostly a lot of smh.

I would officially turn in my Raider gear, shed a few tears, and then move on.

But I would never support anything Oklahoma. Not even the Raiders.

Spose my fandom would have to jump across the bay. another smh

Would be surprised if that actually happens, but to my recollection OKC is a growing market, but why not LA? Blah, blah, bandwagon, there is plenty of warm meat puppets in LA that will give the NFL plenty of money.

Oh yeah, LA is the right answer imo.

Most those inland empire, Orange County, and LA folks would be going to Raider games rather than down to SD.

Build a MLB stadium. I think MLB would do better than NFL in Oklahoma city.

We already have our football passions, NBA was new and exciting to the area, so would MLB. It's a perfect Baseball city. There is a reason the BIG XII tourney is held there yearly.

When I moved out of OKC 40 years ago I didn't think it would ever have anything more than the minor leagur teams I followed back then.

Seeing it go big-league in any sport is fine by me.

As far as team name goes I would just as soon stick with "Raiders" or go with "Pioneers." "Southerners" isn't really appropriate because Oklahoma never was part of the confederacy and, IMO, is more a southWESTern state than a southern one.

They tried that and it didn't work. They had to move back to Oakland.

I can think of two cities that would love to have a franchise and could pull that kind of money...

1) San Antonio.

2) Las Vegas.

Entertaining all offers is smart business sense, but moving to another "small" market wouldn't be.

Oklahoma Raiders doesn't have a bad ring to it but I think allegiances are already pretty strong in that region, between the Cowboys Denver and KC not much fanbase left.

I think the Thunder's success pretty much prove OKC will support a pro team in any sport.

Oklahoma, I can tell you from having lived there so long, was much more into football than basketballbefore the Thunder arrived.

If native Oklahomans become majority owners of an NFL franchise in OKC the relatively small population of the state won't make much difference. IMO. Any more than Green Bay's small population has limited the Packers' success.
