Jerry Jones will do everything he can to block this move. Most of Oklahoma are Cowboys fans. Ya know its gotta be tough for OU fans to root for a Texas team. Cowboys would lose a lot of fans, and Jonsey won't like it.

In all seriousness though, I would love to see it. Oakland is horrible, and Oklahoma deserves a football team.

All I'm saying is there was no support for the team.

You have to go back to the 1980s the last time the Sonics averaged 18k+ attendance. When the fans don't support the team, revenue is down and ownership will look for greener pastures. Failure to help build a new arena was the nail in the coffin and if city government is against, its because they know the people don't support it.

Key Arena was 30+ years old.

A blind man could see why they left.

Greener pastures from Seattle to OKC:lol: indeed.

I can't believe that Sonic fans are still blaming Clay Bennet......

Clay Bennett is an easy whipping boy here in Seattle only because he was the face of the whole move, but we know he was just Sterns' pawn.

My blame in order...

1 a. Seattle City Gov't
1 b. Howard Schultz
David Stern

Cherokee people,
Cherokee tribe.
So proud to live, so proud to die.
They took the whole Indian Nation
And locked us on this reservation

So they are going to force march the Oakland Raiders from the west coast to the Reservation?

Again? Brings lots of doctors and medicines this time.

I seriously doubt you would draw any fans from Colorado. That would be a helluva drive, any way you slice it.....
In that part of the country people are used to long drives.

OKC probably would draw a lot more people from Kansas than Colorado, because the states share more border,
for what that's worth.

Not all Oklahomans are rednecks. You'll find more of those in the southeastern part of the state, but it is NOT Alabama or Mississippi. Not even close.

And what state is totally free of "gangstas?"

Greener pastures from Seattle to OKC:lol: indeed.

Team value up 12% in year one from the move.

Operating income down 9 million.

Revenue higher than Seattle ever made. ($82 million first year)

They left that 30+ year old dump, Instantly increased revenue, value and was able to afford better players.

Greener pastures.

#24 Oklahoma City Thunder - Forbes.com

And that was just after year 1 of the move.

Now they are worth $475 million as of this year up to #12 on the list of most valuable NBA franchise.

Of course I'm mad, Mark. I had season tix from '94 until they were stolen, I was a huge Sonics and b-ball fan.

By the way, I think the thunder moving up to #12 in the league has more to say about the NBA product rather than your attendance. Sacramento Kings are #11 and valued at 525m for gods sake and they averaged 13k last year....

Forbes has the thunder with 1 championship :gaah:

Yes the NBA has a good product and they are doing very well in OKC and this stream of revenue will only continue long as Durant and Westbrook are in town. Will they have their downs? Sure but if the city will continue to partner with the franchise and help them increase revenue. Seattle didn't want to do that. This team was not stolen. You gave it away.

And yeah the championship listing is bogus. Seattle retained all records and that's fine by me. The thunder have their own identity and I look forward to future championships. First things first, we gotta keep Houston on our heels and knock off the Heat

it is around 412 miles from Kenton, Oklahoma, to Oklahoma City Oklahoma. Kenton is as far away from OKC as any town in Ok can be. Colorado is even further and any town of any size or even any area of any population size in Colorado is 480 miles or more.

And really, when it comes to pro FB, that's Donks territory, anyway.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Broncos.

I never said OKC would draw many from Colorado, but if the Broncos are playing a road game even further from Denver than OKC is...

And there have to be some Oklahoma natives living in Colorado.

believe me, nobody is going to make a habit of driving 450 miles, plus or minus, one way, to an NFL game in OKC, from anywhere in Colorado. and even if, the percentage would be miniscule.

Toronto already has the Argonauts in the Canadian League. The city isn't big enough for two football teams, sorry.

There are 1000x more NFL fans in Toronto then CFL fans. Toronto is more then ready for the NFL. It makes to much sense not to make it happen.
Toronto is now the 4th largest city in North America.

I think it goes L.A first then Toronto

Buffalo would have to lose their franchise. I don't' see them putting another team that close up north. What fan base has the biggest hold on Toronto? Would Buffalo or the New York market suffer a hit? Maybe Boston?

Bills have been playing a regular season game here for 4 years now
Next year it will be 2 games

Once Ralph Wilson passes I think the Bills move here for good.
We have people with big money who are ready to make it happen

weird, I don't remember having much say in whether the team should stay or go, just like you had zero say in what the team did either.

And you missed my point, the NBA has a terrible product which is why you guys are #12 in the league.
