Since this forum is too boring for Springstien lately - I thought we could use this time to enlighten each other on your favorite sandwich.

Tell us how you make it and for what occasions.

If ever in Colorado Springs at lunch time (this isn't on their dinner menu) the Muffaleta sandwich at Marigolds is a killer. Comes with coppacola, mortadella, prosciutto, soprassatta, and hard salami on a fabulous hard roll. Comes with pepperoncinis, mixed olives, purple onions, lettuce, tomato and their homemade Italian vinaigrette dressing.

My all time favorite sandwich - but not one I could ever make at home.

I love muffaletas. It's the olives that do it for me.

There was a place in Austin called Alvins that made the best roast beef sandwiches on a sourdough bun as large as a plate. I try to emulate that one the most:

Roast beef thin sliced
toasted sourdough with olive oil
mayo
lettuce
tomato
put mayo on the bottom, roast beef, cheese, then lightly toast to melt. Place tomato lettuce mayo pickle and onion on top.

My other favorite is the gyro down here from Gyro king in houston. I often make my own version of that, with my own tzatziki sauce. I go heavy on the dill.

Back in the old days - when my meals were just a succession of munchie cravings - my go to Sandwich was The Hangover

Ultimate Hangover Sandwich

A lot like this one here.

or a grilled Steak, egg and cheese served burrito style.

.Now - I am more likely to spoon out a few ripe avocados - add a touch of mayo - sprinkle with Cayenne pepper to taste - add lettuce, tomato, cheese, sprouts - throw in some nuts or raisins, or both. I prefer to serve on multi-grain breads toasted.

2 1/4" thick slices of German Bologna
2 slices of white or yellow American cheese
2 slices of white wonder bread or other inexpensive white bread
French's yellow mustard

Have a frying skillet large enough for two pieces of bologna.
Turn heat to medium and place bologna in skillet.
Allow bologna to cook until surface starts to turn a darker brown
flip the bologna and place the two slices of cheese on bologna.
Spread mustard on both slices of bread.
Place one slice of bologna on top of the other and place them on the bread.
Put second slice of bread on top of bologna. Mustard side down.
Shut off the stove.

Perfect pre game sandwich.

The loaded Italian combo is now how you have order it but my god it is to die for the bread is soooooooo good fresh out of oven an thick and fully . They now have these stores in Colorado ...yeah

Wish they had one in Arkansas

The normal Italian Combo is just okay about 8 years ago they really took off half of the goodies because of the price jumps in meat but last year they started offer it loaded again for a few more bucks ..........worth it !!!

There was a little place in Austin called "Chi-Town Eatery" that had a very delicious Italian sausage sandwich. (Had some sauce, cheese, onions, bell peppers on a hoagie roll, and was served hot)

I'll have to think what my all-time favorite is though....

It was my first thought but then you ruined it with this post.
With this attitude I'm surprised you haven't yet had your fill of said sandwiches.
