It's now 9-6 Phils...and it's only the 6th inning.

edit:
They scored some more runs...
Including a PH 2 run HR by Jay Bruce.....lol

12-6 now.

What was that O/U again??

I'm guessing the Mets were a sight for eyes for Philly coming into this series right on the heels of their current 7 game losing streak.

No doubt, they were welcomed to the city of brotherly love with open arms.

:rolleyes2:

Gonna be a super fun bus ride back to Queens when this series is over on Thursday.

:heh:

That little kerfuffle by the Mets yesterday after their loss to the Cubs sure did fire up the team.

Trouble is...it wasn't the Mets that got fired up.

Phils stole the fire from them...and the mets let them do it.

Leave it to the Metsies to bring another team's losing streak to an abrupt halt.

Mets unable to rise above noise in Philly

Mets vs. Phillies - Game Recap - June 24, 2019 - ESPN

Steven Matz (5-6) got roughed up again in Philadelphia. The lefty gave up seven runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings. He's 0-4 with an 8.18 ERA in six career starts in Philly's hitter-friendly ballpark. Matz didn't record an out and allowed eight runs -- six earned -- against the Phillies on April 16.

Also:
Syndergaard to make rehab start Tuesday

Next:

(Good grief..I can hardly wait.)
(What could possibly go wrong?)

RHP Walker Lockett (0-1, 23.14 ERA) makes his fifth career start and second for the Mets on Tuesday night, and Jake Arrieta (6-6, 4.12) goes for the Phillies.

Mets Tuesday Lineup vs Philly (Arrieta)

(so awesome to have Cano batting 3rd yet again) :L
(and I'd be shocked if Lockett makes it thru 3 innings)

McNeil - RF
Alonso - 1B
Cano - 2B
Conforto - CF
Frazier - C
Smith - LF
Ramos - C
Rosario - SS
Lockett - P

Mets lead it 4-1 in the 4th.
Solo HR's by Rosario & Smith.
Conforto hit a sac fly rbi.
Cano actually has an rbi single.
Lockett has gone 3 innings so far....

Mets runners however are still making outs on the base paths.

So after the leadoff "walk" to Harper that should've been a strikeout call, Lockett gives up a 1 out double...and then gets pulled for Wilmer Font w/ runners at 2nd & 3rd...and Jay Bruce due up.

edit:
Bruce grounds out but a run scores.

5-3 game...2 down...runner at 3rd.

re-edit:
Font gives up a 2 out rbi single and it's 5-4 now.

re - re edit:

now a 2 out 2 run HR gives Philly the lead 6-5.

Gotta love how the pitching guru always seems to push the right buttons and pull the the right strings when it's needed the most.......NOT!!!!!

RE RE RE EDIT:

Not Joking.....sadly

Font just gave up a 2 out solo HR

It's now 7-5 Phils in the 6th.

And now the "obligatory" HBP....ugghhh.

Gsellman comes in now to try to get that elusive 3rd out of the inning.

FIRE CALLAWAY!!!
And please......FFS....do it while the team is still in Philly.

Mets fail to respond with anything at all.

Phils lead 7-5 at the stretch.

We're still stuck with the same old BS.

Lousy Owners.
Ineffective GM.
Crappy Manager.
Half of the roster filled with scrubs & minor leaguers.
That's just not gonna cut it, guys.

Mets lose 7-5.

It really didn't matter that McNeil's 2 run HR to tie the game in the 8th was reviewed and bumped down into a ground rule double...or that Alonso popped out with 2 outs with runners at 2nd & 3rd. Or that they had the possible go ahead run at the plate in the 9th with 1 only out in that minor league bandbox called a major league ballpark..but failed to score at least 1 measly run to make it more interesting

The Mets weren't going to win this game regardless after giving it away....and they won't win this series now anyhow.
They'd be very lucky to win just 1 of the next 2 before leaving town.

Well the Mets had a 4-0 lead in the 6th inning...but because they failed to tack on, the game is now tied 4-4 in the bottom of the 7th and in danger of totally slipping away again.

Have I mentioned lately that Cano sucks in that 3 spot and he's killing us with his lack of production??

He's 0 for 4 and and has left 6 runners on base.
Why the hell does Callaway keep putting him in that spot in the order? (Definition of Insanity perhaps?)

Vargas actually pitched more than good enough in his 6.1 innings to win. Unfortunately Lugo couldn't TCOB in his 2/3.
