I feel like our offense is explosive or non existent with no in between. It would be nice to get production throughout a game.
Yeah..they better pick up the pace...and play smart consistent winning baseball.
The 1st half was a grind no doubt...but the 2nd half will definitely be even more so with those dog days approaching.

Mets drop the series finale 6-5...settling for a 2-2 split.
Entering the AS break at 47-40, and in 1st place by 3.5 games in the NL east.

Up next:
The Mets will face the Pirates again right after the AS break to begin the 2nd half.
Though this time it'll be in Pittsburgh for a 3 game series, beginning on Fri. July 16th.

The bats desperately need to get going in the 2nd half. We're 29th in runs per game and just lost yesterday to the team that's 30th.

Get a 4th starter and we're in great shape.

Yep. I just hope they aren't gonna be complacent by relying on Carrasco +/or Thor to return effectively.

That said.....we pretty much have a solid starting 9 and a good bench.
With all their shortcomings, it's amazing they're still in 1st place.

Where we could really use upgrades are the BP for sure...and maybe at 3B and 1 additional OFer, and another SP.
JD Davis should be good to go near the end of the month or even to begin the 2nd half.
At least we now have an owner who's willing to spend....so we'll see.

Awesome Job, Pete...and Congrats...but please turn it on and stay hot in the 2nd half, because we need you to do a lot more of that in the games that count.

Kumar...

Mets draft 7 more pitchers...and a pair of UCLA infielders...

* I was hoping they could've picked someone named Harold....to go with Kumar...lol. J/K

We loaded up on some good young arms....so props to the scouts and FO. Well Done.

Love it, never enough arms and they're always a desired commodity in trades so load up.

To no one's surprise whatsoever....The Mets are involved in yet another rain delay.....sheeesh.

And this one is with Stroman on the mound again....and it's in the bottom of the 2nd, with 1 out and bases loaded.

Not sure if he'll be back out if or when this one resumes.

No score for now.

Looks like the Metsies are reverting back to their silly ways and losing to the bottom feeders.
If the FO doesn't "kidnap" and sign Adam Frazier while there...then they aren't doing their jobs and they need to reassess why they are in those jobs in the 1st place.

FTR: I'm about ready to say bye bye to Jeff McNeil.

Embarrassing!
Mets come out flat...and stay flat.
Losing to the bottom feeder Buccos 4-1.

Yo, Stro...you sucked tonight...get over it, stay in your lane and just move on, bro.

Lindor comes up lame...

Up next...
It will be a matchup of rookie right-handers Saturday night when the Mets' Tylor Megill (0-0, 3.50 ERA) faces Wil Crowe (1-5, 6.05). Megill will be making his fifth career start. Crowe has given up a run in the first or second inning in 11 of his 12 starts this season.

* Not sure why deGrom didn't start on Friday...nor will he on Saturday...and possibly not even on Sunday.

Re: Jake....

deGrom's next start
Mets ace Jacob deGrom’s next start still hasn’t been officially determined.
Per Newsday's Tim Healey, Jacob deGrom threw a light, 10-pitch bullpen session on Friday. He usually does that three days before his start. That would line him up for Monday in Cincinnati.
Despite the possible delay, Rojas said the initial plan for deGrom’s first start in the second half of the season was to be toward the end of this weekend's series in Pittsburgh, so Sunday is still an option. That would set the ace up to face more NL East teams down the stretch.
“So, that was the thought process of potentially having him for Sunday, if not Monday, but that's what's lined up,” Rojas said. “He'll have the same amount of starts if he were to start today or tomorrow. I think that's what we calculated.”

Also....
If Lindor is out for an extended time...then the FO should seriously get on the Adam Frazier train ASAP

That is all...for now.

I mean if the Braves can just go out and snag Joc Pederson from the Cubs to replace Acuña...then.....just sayin..

That is all...for now.
