Elfenbein. That was the only show on the fan I couldn't listen to.

Sorry but I thought he peaked with his former sidekick Mark Shapiro way back when they had a nice weekend slot. A little - certainly not 4+ hours a day, 5 days a week - was so overkill.

Yup, but not as much as you overrate Rios, but like I said moving on

My point is that Rios is better than the rest of the market. Teams in a win now mode HAVE to overrate/overpay for these players, otherwise the yankees will catch up to them, or the blue jays will acquire him instead. I guess we'll find out. You're right though.. it remains to be seen so moving on.

The real answer is likely somewhere in the middle of what you two are saying.

I think a team will overpay for Rios because he can be used for a year and a half.... And a lot of teams are still in the mix. Teams will have to out bid one another.

I figured you knew something you weren't telling us, but I think we all pretty much knew he was going to be traded. I'm also sure we all hope you're right on the return we might get, even JTA...

This should be interesting...... His last save attempt was in St. Louis right?

Probably so, but I can see JTA's point that he won't bring a player like Gausman.

I thought Sabathia avoided, but still. the more young arms the better. Trade rios to Baltimore for Gausman + a good prospect. Trade Rios and a lot of cash to Shittsburgh for that stud pitcher +josh bell... since we're bringing everyone else back to the Dallas area. Trade Rios to Toronto for their stud lefty. Trade Rios to SFG for that Kyle Crick stud. Trade Rios to KC for Kyle Zimmer (heard he's one of the best personalities in the minors btw). Trade Rios to Seattle to piss off Oakland and LAA. Seattle has like 5 million different pitching prospects that I'd be fine with getting.

The reason why we have to trade rios is that there are like 6 or 7 teams that want him. His price tag is extremely high for that reason. We WILL need pitching next season. Not might. We will need 2, maybe even 3 pitchers. Keep them young. Any and all of these teams have pitching prospects that would immediately become our best pitching prospect. You gotta pull the trigger.

Guys just make an inference from the bolded about Rios. I'll figure out if I can say more.

I have no doubt JD is in constant conversation with multiple teams who could really use him, and I have no doubt JD is taking full advantage of that. The only question is, how far can he push it?

I'm sure any and all of these have been mentioned and will continue to be.
