I was thinking about Gausman. The O's are going to have question marks in their OF for next year. Nelly and Markakis are both FA's. I wonder if they're interested in Rios?

They have to be right? They're in first place and the divisions only gonna get tougher with the yanks getting better. Rios would be perfect for them. And Gausman is who theyd HAVE to give up. I mean think about it. He's too young/inexperienced to be in the playoff rotation. Rios will start every game and provide an impact bat. Losing Gausman wouldnt really affect them this year, which youd think theyd be all in at this point. If we're trading them Rios, it would HAVE to be gausman and someone else. Maybe not a guy like Harvey... that seems excessive. But still Gausman would be a huge haul with his stuff/size. Anything more with Gausman would be a huge plus

The reality is, I think we HAVE to trade Rios. I've never been a hater of his. I really grow fond of players who I think are smart, baseball IQ wise. I think Rios is one of the smartest ones on the team. But, if you look at all the teams that desperately need a bat or an OF (Pirates, Orioles, Blue Jays) they all have at least one fantastic pitching prospect. The Orioles have Bundy, Gausman, Harvey, AND one more dude I can't think of. The Blue Jays have Daniel Norris, a lefty with fantastic stuff. Oh.. and no big deal but the pirates have the best prospect in all of baseball who happens to be a pitcher. You gotta trade Rios. We need pitching. These teams will give it to us because they're in win now mode. We can leverage with toronto and baltimore cuz theyre in the same division. They dont want the other team to get rios, so that'll drive up his price. You gotta trade him. The return will be worth it. Worry about outfield in the offseason when we have money to blow. As for now, let Rios go and get a top arm or two out of it.

Making a trade for any of the players listed above would immediately give us a new best pitching prospect. All of the guys mentioned above are better than LJ. We think highly of LJ (as we should) but the reality is we think so highly of him because our farm is extremely weak with pitchers right now. I doubt LJ is a number two in his future. I just do. I've watched him before. Unless he develops even more, and his stuff gets better, I don't think he's more than a MORP. Gausman is a number 2 in a couple years. Harvey is at least a number 2. The kid for the pirates is a freakin ace.

Probably right. Just don't have any confidence in him but he handled the first OK.

From what I recall he costs too much and we already have enough of those.
