tackling was still poor, not sure if we were watching the same game. Sure there were good times, but you can drag down a BCS caliber player by his shirt, not going to happen. Tackling was very poor in the open field. Corners/Safeties, multiple times failed to break down and make that open field tackle. That led to some big plays by SMiss. I was awfully worried in 1Q when SMiss already had 130 yards. The D stiffened after that.

Banderas and Gerry are going to be great players for NU. I think Valentine/Curry/Mcmullen/etc on the d-line are going to be pretty good too, given time to build strength and technique. Santos just looked slow out there, did he even play before mop up duty at the end of the game? I don't really know how filling certain gaps works, but when your two D-lineman have a gap covered, shouldn't you be going around them and making the play? He basically blocked himself on a couple of plays. And Randle, love the big guy, occasionally does some decent things, but man is that guy slow off the ball. Oh, and Seisay probably should see the field either, always seems to be a couple step behind receivers.

we looked good....but we beat a team that has lost 14 straight...common now. Don't drink the Koo-laid, you're only setting yourself up for failure when UCLA hangs 40+ on us next week.

As long as we hang 41+ on them I'm ok with it.

The defense looked a lot crisper. Taylor spread the ball around nicely.

Next week is the type of game where Bo hasn't been able to get over the hurdle.
