Not a fan of the portal

Seems like more players are out of the bowl games because they're in the portal then players sitting out because they don't want to be injured before the draft.

Completely agree.

Portal needs to be changed to not open until all postseason games are played.

This is the problem with the transfer portal. There is no connection to the school in general and little time to become attached to teammates.
Especially when a coach really dips into the portal 2 or 3 years in a row.
If Notre Dame again goes for a transfer QB, they will never be able to recruit a 5 Star quarterback. Other positions also. ND signed a 5 star Wide Receiver (#1 receiver in Illinois) and red-shirted him this year. No issue there, but they then got a transfer wide receiver to be the primary next year.
What is the red shirted player thinking right now?

Outside of the playoff, bowl season is basically watching the spring game of each team.

Plus you have a solid player at #2 on the depth chart take a red shirt and opt out mid season.
