Funny how baseball works
If he doesn’t turn it around this year, he needs to hang up his cleats and enlist in the marinesTy France is off the a good start. Took a while for him to recover from Mariner Disease after getting traded to Cincy. But he's back in 2021-2022 from for the Twins. Figures.
Kelenic, on the other hand, remains his own worst enemy.
Gotta say those were some very close pitches.
Thought the same but I also get the bitching when it is 80% on one team. All they have to do is have the challenge rule and all this shit goes away. Or my idea of just posting the box on the big screen and the ump can change it in a millisecond.Gotta say those were some very close pitches.
Always seemed like the Astros cheating scandal proved players can wear the sensors that shows their exact strike zone. Thats my only gripe with the ABS is that it appears to be a generic one. Samad Taylor’s isn’t the same as Locklear’s but it looks the same.Thought the same but I also get the bitching when it is 80% on one team. What has always bothered me is that with no immediate video, they will continue the game being wrong. I assume they think they are right when missing the same calls over and over so let them see it so they can correct it then and there.
Hawkeye's cameras are crazy accurate down to a few millimeters. Each player gets their height precisely measured without shoes on, and that gets fed into the system for creating an individualized vertical strike zone. Width of the zone is the same for each player.Always seemed like the Astros cheating scandal proved players can wear the sensors that shows their exact strike zone. Is that what baseball uses? I truly don’t know, like I said my only gripe is strike zones aren’t all the same and it appears they use a generic one but I could be off.Hawkeye's cameras are crazy accurate down to a few millimeters. I've been a fan of Hawkeye since they first started using it in tennis 20 years ago. They started with a challenge system as well, but it's been pretty widely adopted as the official line caller rather than using line judges. Took FOREVER for them to finally come to their senses. Everything moves so much faster in tennis now and there's no more matches cost by horrific line calls.
like i explained, it's not a generic strike zone. it's individualized based on player height. Is that what baseball uses? I truly don’t know, like I said my only gripe is strike zones aren’t all the same and it appears they use a generic one but I could be off.
If baseball goes full ABS does Greg Maddux have to give back his Cy Young’s and the Braves give back their 1995 WS?
I think even the generic is better than man.like i explained, it's not a generic strike zone. it's individualized based on player height.
the ones they show on broadcasts right now are generic. those aren't generated using the hawkeye technology. it'll be interesting to see how the tech develops and how broadcasters will use it. shouldn't be too hard. the NFL has used hawkeye cameras at each game for a long time to generate precise metrics for tv viewers. they're using 8K cameras now. very cool.
MLB isn't going full ABS. Like tennis, for reasons passing understanding, they're going to use a challenge system. Took 15 years of the challenge system for a tennis tournament (US Open) to finally get rid of human line judges altogether. I'm betting it'll never happen in MLB.
