I'm hoping the Lakers don't sign him, guy is a cancer. First he tells Boston that he hasn't been playing defense for years and now he ignores his coach's instructions. He's not even that good to be acting like a prima donna.

If someone gives him a max contract this offseason I would laugh so hard. He's one of the most overrated players in the NBA, I've been saying it for years. He really thinks he's a super star :tsk:

The sad part about this is that Rondo wasn't mature enough to leave it alone after the first argument. He argued with him some more after the game in the locker room

I would love to hear Rondo defend his actions lol

Your coach asked for a TO and you refuse to listen

Meh, not the first time Carlisle and a point guard have had issues. Rondo just isn't the right fit for the Mavs offensive system.

He's too old anyway - I would rather see the Lakers get someone younger even though they won't be quite as good. Rondo is 29 already which means he will be 30 by the time we get him and 31 by the time the Lakers say they will be seriously ready to win another championship. I'd like to see them get a legitimate point guard that will be good for the next decade

Honestly I hope the Lakers can get a younger and more athletic point guard this summer other than Rondo who will be 30 next season, but I don't remember Doc Rivers having problems with him and do believe Scott could handle him

I like the point SVP and Russillo's had today, "what is he even mad about?". Like seriously, he's been a dick ever since he was at Kentucky. He's constantly disgruntled and no one is ever really doing anything for him to be mad about.

The guy is just a diva. And skillwise, I've always thought he was overrated. He's only as good as the talent around him and he fishes for his own stats. He can be good, but if there's even a remote thing that happens that might upset him, he will absolutely just mail it in and halfass games.

Rondo has been known to be difficult since his days at Kentucky.

He's also clashed with Doc.

This looks really bad because it happened in front of the cameras.

Rondo is a prick.

But, it's because he thinks he's the smartest guy on the court and he really wants to win.

He needs to play with/for a guy with a strong personality and he needs to be surrounded by shooters.

You would think the the Mavs would be a good fit with Dirk, Parsons and Monta.

So, I'm not sure what he's so mad about.

I thought it was the Head Coach's job to call the plays.

* Unless we are talking about D Fish, then it's Phil's job*

The Mavs will get thru this.

It's in Rajon's best interest to make it work because I don't think there are very may other Teams out there willing to give him the max.

Carlisle is a very good coach and definitely underrated. Rondo on the other hand is a prick and overrated. Not hard to figure who wins that battle.

And Carlisle has a history of arguing with point guards. Is he also a dickhead?

Probably.

He and Kidd clashed too.

Sometimes you have to be a Dick to get your point across.

Treading lightly and walking on eggshells usually doesn't lead to Championships and they both have one.

He's not a good fit for the Mavs offense. Rondo is more of an old school point guard who needs the ball in his hands to run the offense effectively. Carlisle's offense (not unlike the triangle) doesn't rely on the point guard. Carlisle had the same arguments with Kidd.

Carlisle and Kidd were able to work it out. We'll see if Carlisle and Rondo can do the same. Kidd was 38 and more mature at that point, though, so we'll see how Rondo reacts. Either they'll work it out or they won't.

Kind of funny that Dragic is praised for leaving the Suns because he wants to be THE point guard on his team, but Rondo gets criticized for the same thing for arguing with a coach who has a history of arguing with point guards.

Exactly. Hell, Kobe has been a straight up asshole at times to teammates and coaches (including Phil), but it's led to 5 rings.

Heck, now that some of them are starting to tell "behind the scenes" stories, it seems the Showtime Lakers "broke a few eggs" in the 80's as well.
