I love the Phoenix area, but they have no business with a Ice Hockey team.

I would temper that by saying that phoenix could (and did) support a team, but Glendale can absolutely not.
Hell, Kanata Ontario is lucky its north of the border or the Sens would be dead in the water, too.

So Jamison has the cash and now Glendale is reluctant to sign the deal?!? With a lockout looming and a November civic election likely bring in council members opposed to keeping the Coyotes in Glendale, who knows when this saga will end?

Reports are that Glendale wants to reduce the amount of money they're paying Jamison (his arena management fee) from $17 million to $10 million.

The people of Glendale want their 50 million back.

Well, good luck with that, as that money is firmly in the back pocket of Gary Bettman Esq.

We haven't heard from Glendale mayor Elaine "Scruggy" Scruggs in a while, here's the latest:

With raised voice, #Glendale Mayor Scruggs says bankruptcy changed everything and now #Coyotes suitor wants more than city can afford.

I believe it's an election year. The Mayor could be in some deep shit. They've already given the NHL 50 million from the streets & the water supply. Where will Glendale get the money from next??

New lines are being drawn in the sand as the seemingly never-ending Phoenix Coyotes ownership saga reaches another fish-or-cut-bait moment.

Glendale city manager Horatio Skeete said Wednesday the city will not finalize its current $300 million, 20-year arena payment plan with prospective Phoenix Coyotes buyer Greg Jamison unless the terms are changed.

Jamison, to this point, has resisted changes to the deal as major adjustments could impact his ability to buy the team.

Multiple sources in support of the Coyotes being sold and staying in Glendale have said Jamison has the money to purchase the team and those funds and financing are in some sort of escrow.

Skeete said Glendale wants to cut the first five years of city payments to Jamison from $92 million down to $72 million. He also said he and Jamison are still talking about changes to the arena accord.

This is like a bad relationship, that everyone knows is a bad relationship including the people involved, but for whatever reason they stay together. Woudn't both parties be much, much better off without one another?

Maybe this whole lockout thing is Bettman's way of stalling for a new owner in Ponicks? :noidea:

Bill Daly to Fan 590: "We aren't at a point where we're willing to call Phoenix a failure."

I repeat "We aren't at a point where we're willing to call Phoenix a failure."

How many hundreds of millions have been lost in Phoenix over the past 10 years?!? I think I remember the total being over $300 million. Hmmm, that's a liitle more than the figure that the NHL and NHLPA are apart in the current work stoppage.
