Grandal has a career .348 OBP and 118 OPS+. A 118 OPS+ would rank among the top hitting catchers in the league most seasons (for comparison, Lucroy had a 123 OPS+). He has the 5th best OBP and SLG% among qualified catchers since the beginning of 2014.
I'm not saying he's a star. But I would love to have that kind of production at catcher, especially with the crap the Red Sox got from Vazquez/Hanigan (Leon will regress big time next year).
