Wacha is definately the "latest" new gun in the league until he pulls a Harvey.

Cardinals really did make out on the whole Pujols trade!

No way. He's so effort less. Over the top with a change up that's not human

pick one, they all had different throwing motions...its almost a right of passage anymore...and Wacha is pretty young, Ankiel young.

Cardinals are very consistent

Phillies were the class of the NL for five years until RAJ ruined it - should have been a dynasty - goes to show you the difference between a great front office(Cards) and a bad one(Phillies) and how it changes the entire path of an organization

You misread it, navamind.

It's 0.643, with a decimal point.

Over 1.0 is mediocre, over 1,3 is BAD, under 0.7 is very good.

no it's not. The league WHIP this year was 1.30. A WHIP of 0.70 in ANY year, even 1968, is historically good.

or you have ridiculously high standards.

congrats to the Cards.

Clearly Wacha's been succumbing to the postseason due to his lack of experience.

If you've pitched in the bigs and were born during the Garfield Administration, or later, you can only hope to be mediocre.

Somehow, this isn't the stupidest thing you've ever said on this forum..

I have to admit to being less familiar with this stat than many others.

Will try to do better in future.

Do you realize how idiotic you sound? Because players get hurt your just assuming it will happen to all. Why do you even waste your time watching baseball or the royals in general? All their pitchers are going to have tommy John surgery anyways.

Liriano had a violent throwing motion with his slider. Ankiel lost his control and folded.

I hope to realize how dumb you sound.

Then I guess that is why 1 in 8 professional pitchers have Tommy John...

1 out of 3 pitchers in the major leagues (124 out of 360 in 2013)....I do understand how dumb, not only do you sound, but obviously are.

having Tommy John isn't a bad thing, having it done earlier in the career is actually benificial to the players career.

Having Tommy John surgery is hardly routine and pitchers usually have to sit out a whole season after it.

And some nitwit is saying pitchers should have it early in their careers?

This site has better smilies than any other I'm familiar with, but should consider adding one depicting a cuckoo clock!
