Another season coming around the corner and yet the Dodgers still have not seen the Time Warner Deal complete negotiations with the other networks to carry the games. They are making a huge mistake because there are a lot kids growing up without the Dodgers and will not care when they are old enough to remember the Dodgers greed. They should be ashamed of themselves

Big windfall for the Angels. Markets with two teams in the are highly competitive, and if the "lead" team drops the ball, the other can swoop in and take market share.

That's actually a great idea now that you mention it. I've always been a big fan of Sciosa so if he can get that team on track - that would be a fun rollercoaster to jump on

I fully support the idea of bailing on the doggies...
The Angels have always been my second favorite team any way and much better managed in the last decade then the Dodgers. I had hoped for a new day when the Magic Johnson Group took over even though Johnson is just a minority owner with little say so over the operations and is more of a token black guy to make them look good than anything else. Then they signed the new deal with Time Warner and unlike the Lakers, there really is not enough support in the fan base to support the greed by those that wants to sell the Dodgers station a la carte. If they do that most of us will blow them off and do without. Baseball is kind of boring to watch any way and I am more of look at the losses and wins in the columns any way when it comes to baseball along with watching the fantastic Vin Skully one more season, but they are expendable in more ways then one

One of the injury prone starters for the Dodgers might already be missing time, just saw on MLBN that Brett Anderson needs back surgery and is expected to miss 3-5 months.

They have about 7 guys competing for the 2-5 spots. Losing one is hardly noticeable.

I thought about mentioning the depth they have, and right now it might not be a big loss. But he was pretty good last year when healthy and more injuries are bound to occur during the season. The depth can go away quick, and without that 2nd reliable ace in Greinke it puts even more pressure on the back end of the rotation.

This was kinda my point, in a vague, subdued way.

If you have 7 guys competing for spots 2-5, you really have a bunch of 4/5s trying to pitch over their heads. If any 1 of them goes down, you really only lost a 4/5. No big deal.

True, although I think a couple of them could be #3 type starters. Still don't really have anybody to replace what Greinke gave them, especially last season.

This news coupled with the news that Ryu won't be back till some time in May at the earliest, Dodger fans have to be questioning their front office's strategy.

Kershaw/Greinke was one of the all-time great 1-2 punches, so even Greinke in '17 would not have been '16 Greinke.

We knew, before today, that the doggie rotation was Kershaw and pray for rain. While losing Anderson is not "good news" for them, it really does not change any of their expectations. He was just one of a bunch of fudgeable widgets.

If anything, it just makes the road for Urias that much easier to break through early, and he has the highest ceiling of all their options (save for Kershaw, of course). I just dont think they WANT to call him up this year, if they can avoid it at all.

13 pitchers is a very Giants thing to do considering they play 22 games within the first 23 days of the season, with some uncertainty with Cain coming back from injury and Peavy being old....First bat up would be probably Parker or Williamson. Arroyo is still a year away. Having Heston as our long reliever in the event that Cain or Peavy struggles is a coup considering how well he did last season.
