Why does Buster Olney keep mentioning the Giants as the team that will get Judge next year. What am I missing? The Giants don’t spend that kind of money

Kris Bryan has fallen off the earth. Glad now the Giants didn't try to re-sign him

Not a real shock here. He's going to get a longer term contract. At 29, he should be good for another 6 years or so.

it's not. He's been great the last two years. His injury history still scares the crap out of me.

Completely underwhelmed by the Giants signings. Another loser year in the league's toughest division.

I wonder if Correa will play third base this year since Crawford is still here

The human in me says “dude, that sucks.” And I want to embrace THAT reaction.

But the Giants fan in me is dancing with schadenfreude. I am not proud. And I want to avoid this reaction, but if I am being honest, it is there.

Gavin Lux torn ACL, out for the year.
Any time I hear "non contact" injury I know its bad. They won't miss a beat without him though. They are so stacked.

I might feel that way if it was Mookie Betts or Freddie Freeman but Lutz? Nah; they won't miss him at all.

He is supposed to be a huge prospect for them. They were “ok” with losing Seager and Turner because they had him ready to take over.

He isnt established yet, sure. But he COULD develop into something special. Losing him hurts them.

I think Turner was supposed to be the shortstop but then he unexpectedly signed with Philly' Lutz I think was a stop gap. Their minor league system is so good that they probably have a hot shot in waiting down there but if not, they won't need any production from him since the rest of their lineup is so dominant.

I have no idea who “Lutz” is. But Lux is the hotshot you are referring to.

It's so crazy seeing the Dodgers pegged for only 86 wins. I still think they win more than that (I'd say 91-93) but this does feel like the weakest Dodgers team in a while, even before the Lux injury. They've still got Freeman/Smith/Betts/Muncy, but there's a fair amount of uncertainty at the other positions, especially LF/CF. Even Muncy is coming off a down year. The rotation should still be among the best in the NL, but I expect some real regression (particularly Urias/Gonsolin) and they also lost Anderson/Heaney.

Could be a crazy NL West race.
