It is a lot to ask to ask this rag tag bunch of over achievers on the Giants to maintain pace with dominant lineups and bank accounts like the Dodgers and Padres have.

Giants fans strive to root for a team as well run as the Padres.

The envy is strong here.

And we strive to win as many games as the Padres will this year. Tough ask with the disparity in talent and spending.

Mookie's on fire right now. Has raised his BA from .246 to .292 in a 10 day span, and he's now up to a 173 wRC+

It's May 29 and the Dodgers already have a +119 run differential

Feels like a Dodgers Yankees WS setting up. But of course the playoffs are pretty random.

I just watched the pitching fiasco in LA from last night.

Why was Phillips allowed to warm up before taking the mound? The dogs fucked up. They should have been forced to put in Phillips (or whomever) cold. What is the point of warming up your pitchers beforehand if you can just stop the game and let your reliever warm up while everyone just waits?

How the hell are Barnes and Muncy hitting ,150 for the Dodgers? That is absurd. Giants sweep. First shutout of the year

Now show his post season numbers…

Fuck, meant to post that in the NL East thread.

.211/.315/.487 with 4 doubles, 1 triple and 5 homers in 19 games. Not great, but there are plenty of stars with far worse stats than that and managed to get a ring anyway. Buster Posey hit a mere .252/.321/.345 in 58 postseason games. Mookie Betts has hit .272/.350/.408 in the postseason, but he didn't exactly light it up in the 2018 postseason. Tino Martinez had a .672 OPS in 99 postseason games. Etc.

That does leave a big hole in the lineup but teams can usually find a way to maneuver and close the gap on that 6 games of production. Although if you're comparing him 1 to 1 vs Matt Vierling, yeah that is a big loss.

Yeah nothing could be more meaningless going forward than his postseason stats in 80 plate appearances or whatever. If my team was in the playoffs and I could add either Harper or Randy Arozarena (assuming both were healthy enough to play) there would be no hesitation before I picked Harper.
