Something tells me that next week's series between the Cards and Brewers might be for a wildcard spot...the Pirates and Reds seem to cause the Brewers all kinds of issues...plus the Brewers seem to enjoy falling apart
Nice start for STL. Three walks, HBP, Wong double, 3-0 and 37 pitches for their starter.
Division
CHC (89-64) (-)
MIL (88-66) (1.5)
STL (85-69) (4.5)
Wildcard
MIL (88-66) (+3)
STL (85-69) (-)
----------
COL (83-70) (1.5)
8 games left for the Cardinals (85-69). It'd be nice if they could win these next 2 against the Giants (72-82). If they don't they could be in serious trouble. Then, it's a 3-game home series with the Brewers (88-66) and a 3-game road trip with the Cubs (89-64). This is going to be interesting. The Rockies (83-70) close out the season with the D-backs (79-75), Phillies (78-75), and Nationals (77-77).....and don't forget about the Dodgers (85-69). If they slip back into the WC race they have the Padres (62-92), D-backs, and Giants to end the regular season.
Wow a crazy long rain delayed game with no regular starter and using bull pen by committee having 9 pitchers pitch. Was a good win. Cubs lose as well. Is there any hope being 1 1/2 down from the Cubs to win the division?
Go Pirates!!
Lead will be down to a half game unless the Cubs make a huge comeback
